x-kaboom:
Katsuki wouldn’t admit or even realize about the way he felt when Kirishima said he didn’t want to leave just yet. The blond knew that he wasn’t someone easy to be around, he used to be…he used to have two or three losers around him, thinking he was so cool but he wouldn’t call them friends, just…weaklings that thought being around him would make them cooler or save them from an ass kicking, so when people leave he knew why and would try to move on from that even tho very very deep at the back of his head, there would always be the question of: why did I say that. Katsuki was a very confident person, so he loathed to have doubts about anything he did. Either words or actions. But…with cherry shark was different. It was easier to be around him and just say things, Eijiro wouldn’t get mad or offended or tell him to cool it down. No calm down, no back off, not being intimidated or scared. He would even match his energy most of the time and made Bakugo feel like he wasn’t being too much.
“You’re such a doofus optimistic Kirishima.” He said with a chuckle, eyes opening to look at his classmate…friend. “Yeah, I guess that only opens our eyes to what we have coming huh? I hope the sensei doesn’t allow more waste of time in festivals and bullshit like that.” Did he enjoy to see his class happy and kicking ass on the stage? Sure. Did he had fun in the games with Kirishima? OF COURSE. Was it one of the best experiences he’d had in his young life? Yes. But still…heroes should be training and working hard, not performing in concerts.
He took his other foot out his slipper now that he noticed that Eijiro had done the same and stood barefoot on the grass, toes wiggling lightly. “Even the bastard of Deku seems to be getting stronger and stronger.” He frowned and tensed his jaw. This day had been a little too much for his emotions and didn’t know how he felt about any of those things. He was so so glad that the class was too tired to want to hang around more because he would have yelled at more than one person and didn’t feel like being too loud this night. Didn’t feel like dealing with their eye rolls and shoulder shrugs about his anger.
“Yes, I am. But I’m sure you like it.” Kirishima knew that Bakugou wasn’t someone easy to read. In fact, when they had first met, Kirishima thought that the boy didn’t knew any other emotion other than angry, sometimes with aggressive added to it. But as time went on and he started to know him better, he realized that Bakugou’s range of emotions was far more complex, it was just in the tiniest of details, in the hints that no one would look at but, for some reason, Kirishima had learn to read them. And he knew that despite the odd nicknames and the yelling, Katsuki liked hanging out with him. Not tolerate him, but actually enjoyed himself when Kirishima was around. “I think it is because you are so serious sometimes. We balance each other out, like best bros.” He added, a smile decorating his features.
Back in the day, Kirishima used to be far more gloomy and while he still felt those lingering grey clouds over him from time to time, he was proud of how far he had come so he didn’t mind that Katsuki thought he was a bit of a doofus. In fact, it made him happy. Knowing that Bakugou saw him and actually liked it, his personality and his flaws, everything he had offered Bakugou accepted and he always helped him grow into a better person. They did balance each other out and Kirishima was nothing but sincere when saying that Bakugou was his best friend.
“See? Right there. So serious.” Kirishima sighed softly, sitting on the grass, patting the spot next to him. “I know we need to train but we can make time for festivals and other bullshit.” He smiled at Katsuki, throwing himself back into the ground to look at the stars above. “Like going to bed late to watch the stars” He told him, letting out a soft sigh. He knew that Bakugou wanted to be the number one here, he knew that he would work hard every day of his life and he was certain that he would accomplish everything he set his eye on but Kirishima wanted to make sure he didn’t push himself too hard, that he didn’t forget to take it easy sometimes.
“I guess he is.” He told him. It had been an impressive display of power, a little scary as well. Deku was an impressive hero and Kirishima was sure he’d become one of the best but he had a long way to go. It seemed that Deku, sometimes, really didn’t knew what he was doing. Which he supposed was normal, they were all still learning but it seemed that everyone thought Deku was the strongest when, well....It wasn’t true. His combat had been really cool to watch but not as impressive as Bakugou’s. While Midoriya’s power seemed to grow, Katsuki grew as a complete hero. “I still think you did better though. Cause Deku was a little scary, I thought he was going to hurt someone for real, you know? Which is not good for a hero, we are supposed to make people feel safe, not more scared.” He frowned lightly and looked over at the blonde. “Is that mean of me to say? I don’t want Deku to feel bad and he is usually so nice but...I don’t know, I even thought All Might was for real worried at some point.”
