we must be killers?

Ava rolled her eyes, turning her focus back on the people running back and forth. She looked over and shrugged at him, mouthing out words as well ‘Well I was fucking breast feeding by child.’

Having not expected Ava to be the one in front of him, Angelo quickly removed the headphones, an almost sheepish smile curling at his lips. “Dumb nut? Believe we both know I’m the brightest nut around.” A pause. “Everything alright?” 

“Yeah everything is fine, why couldn't it be fine?” Ava said, crossing her arms together and so did her eyebrows. “I’ve been doing some recruitment lately. You know, same old stuff.”

“She’s different. She was capable of doing everything. Obviously not staying alive of course but...” Ava said with a slight nod. “Nothing feels the same. Just do m a favor and teach her everything you know.”

“I do not mean today, next week, or months. But, you must know. I am not fitted. I have too much going on. Yes the gang is first, but I am pretty it more in danger still now that everyone knows I have a child. I’ve watch Catherine trained, she’s much more experience than most of the assassins-in-training. Push her to the limit.”

“Of course.. You still haven’t told me for what, though.”

“She is Katerina’s blood. Yes I am here blood, too. But Catherine should rightfully become leader, taking her sister’s duties in her own hands. I even heard from a few she’s even been training with us. And we all know I am not fitted right now as leader.”

“I can still be sneaky even with the baby.” Ava said with a smile, walking closer to him to close the gap between them. “Come on, I can give Enzo a bottle and he’ll be knocked out for hours. We can finally have alone time.”

He offered her, what was probably, a smile in response. 

“Honestly, before... I thought life was pretty much useless.  To die was never a fear, I even welcomed it. Now having Enzo around, I can’t see him in the arms of another. He gives me a purpose to see the world in different terms. To take things at a slower pace.”

Did it…survive? 

“Surprisingly, I trust you. You had me. You could have killed me. But you didn’t. Even though I have a strong dislike for the gang you’re a part of. But....” Ava said with slight hesitation. “I don’t know, you seem different than them all. The child lived, it’s a boy. And is in very trusted and guarded hands.”

You look okay now. Not covered in blood.

“A fucking melon? Yea I know.”

“Ok.”

“Maybe it’s because I am not use to your sudden change of personality.” Ava said to him, manage to give a small smile. But, both Salvatore and herself knew that it was false. “I don’t know. Something about all that blood that I was in... I drowned in it. It just.... Changed me. I feel different. I see things differently.”
