What girls mean: I'm too embarrassed to ask for water from your mom because this is the first time I've been over and she's asked me like 500 times if I wanted any and I've been saying no but I'm dying of thirst

So I'm sure everyone has that one class that they can't stand going to. Even though you get to choose your classes in college, there are still some classes that are either awful and are required, or you think would be alright and end up being hell. The later is the case of my Calculus 3 class. Being an engineering major, I'm more math inclined. I like math. There's not a whole lot of nonsense that can sway the answer. For the most part, either you're right, or your wrong. And it's nice like that. It's predictable. There is a easy pattern to pick up on. This allows people like me (which most people in calculus 3 are) to learn math easier. However, my professor this year doesn't seem to pick up on that. Now, I'm all for making sure everyone understands the course material. But this is a four hour class. And by the second class, we were a week behind. This isn't because the teacher went off on some awesome story explaining how she escaped the clutches of Eastern Europe. It's not because a student did not understand and took up more time. It is simply because her communication skills are sub par, and it takes her a very long time to explain things, and often just writes on the board what it says in the book. This makes it really tough to learn anything more than I would from reading the textbook, and takes way more time to do so. And I know this is Tumblr, the land of everyone can do anything, and if this gets any attention from people other than my friends it is going to be considered sexist and stuff just because I'm a dude, and fascist because I can't understand her accent. But I do firmly believe that in this country we need to have higher standards for our education system. We should hire those in the top of their class with high communication skills, so that the best possible message is spread to the students. Standardized testing needs to go, as well as requirements from the establishment the class is thought at (i.e. My college requires a certain number of written assignments in each class). I know this is beating a dead horse, but I thought I'd add my voice and my story to the crowd demanding reform.
