Bacic Info: Age: Currently 17 Age at the time of entering camp: 12 Birthday: September 28th Gender: Male Pronouns: He/Him/His Sexuality: Bisexual Height: 6 feet Weight: 147 pounds (66.7 kg rounded to the nearest tenth) Residence: Lives in Cabin 13 of Camp Half-Blood

Looks: As stated, Denzel is 6 feet tall and his 17. He has short black hair that goes to his ears (think of a Timothée Chalamet haircut, but straighter and with bangs like crying child from Fnaf). He has light hazel eyes and a slightly rectangular (oblong) face shape. He has pale skin that mixes between a healthy and unhealthy look, but it is quite different from when he first arrived, when he looked very unhealthy. He burns easily and tans little. He has a few freckles on his cheeks. He also has multiple scars on his arms due to scratching a lot. He has an ectomorphic build. He is usually seen wearing a simple orange Camp Half-Blood shirt and jeans. He wears a belt that carries a dagger.

Powers(I got these from the wiki so-): Dictukinesis: Children of Dionysus can sense, understand, and control alcohol, as their dad is the god of wine. On that note, they can tell if any alcoholic beverage has been tampered with, laced with something unwanted, or if the ingredients used to make said alcohol are not safe for consumption. 

                          Extra info: Denzel did not know that he could control Alcohol most of his life until he came to Camp Half-Blood. He especially didn’t know that he could do this when he was younger and more subject to his Mother’s abuse. He never really understood how to even do it even after finding out he could do this. Once he found out he could do this he got very upset and didn’t talk much for about two days after he figured it out.

Chlorokinesis: Children of Dionysus also have control over nature, most specifically plants and vegetation, as their dad is the god of vegetation and orchards. They can bind and suffocate their enemies with grape vines, which are immensely strong and durable. They can also summon, communicate with, and manipulate vines, trees, orchards, and other such vegetation with the slightest ease, enabling them to cause barren wastelands to transform into fruitful meadows, make trees bear fruit, and revive dead vegetation with mere concentration. 

               Extra info: Denzel had recalled one time where an example of this power happened. He had been around 7 and his mother in a rather angry mood had just screamed at him and shoved him to the ground in the backyard, he had gotten really scared and upset. He had accidentally caused small weeds to wrap around her legs, making her trip, which turned her more angry. As a result, Denzel slept outside in the backyard that night. 

Parafrosýnkinesis: Children of Dionysus can control madness, as their dad is the god of madness. 

                 Extra info: Denzel had been able to recall a few times this happened. Most of these times were when his mother had become black out drunk and became more distraught and angry. Every single time this happened(which was about 9 times) Denzel managed to calm her down and get her to bed. Although two of these times, Denzel had gained injuries that took around 2-3 weeks to heal.

Children of Dionysus can sense and change the mood wherever they are (mostly parties) as their dad is the god of festivities.

Extra info: There has never really been an opportunity to use this power according to Denzel. Denzel only found out about this power at a valentines party when he was 13. Two kids were arguing in the area near where Denzel was and he had gone to investigate(after about 20 minutes of encouraging himself to go) and when he found them he somehow managed to change the tense mood to a silly mood. The two campers who were arguing stopped and started joking around with each other and joined back to the party.

Berserker State: Some children of Dionysus/Bacchus can enter a feral state in which their powers reach the peak, but at the cost of temporarily losing all rationality and sanity, as well as almost immediately collapsing from exhaustion at the end

Extra Info: Denzel has never entered this state before and he hopes that he never has to.

Personality and extra(action wise): Of the 16 personalities, he is ISFJ-T, according to my old ref. He is very guarded when you first meet him. He is constantly worrying and fearing about what will come next. Some of the other residents of the camp have described him as awkward, quiet, always looking around, spaced out, and, most notably, scratching his arms, which often causes them to bleed, so his arms are often riddled with band-aids. Campers have described that the first time talking to him was very awkward and hard to talk to, since he was always looking around at his surroundings, scratching his arms, and not paying attention to what they were talking about. Many have also noted that he only seems to calm down when a certain child of Hypnos, named Milo Cimon Semyonov, is near him. Denzel has been seen to stop scratching his arms, not looking around as much, and his whole body visibly lets up a lot, but there is still some tension. Now, some of the campers had described Densel as having a fear of wine/alcohol, maybe close to a phobia, and a very big discomfort over touch. Now this fear of wine/alcohol is confirmed by the head of Cabin 13 and the head of the camp, Dionysus, also known as Mr. D. He has stated that Denzel shows an intense, or rather irrational, fear of anything alcohol. Mr. D had complained that he had to get rid of the smell of wine in the cabin and somehow turn the smell into strawberries, which he had boasted about succeeding at. When asked why he had to change the smell, he had responded with that because when Denzel first arrived, he had a really horrible PTSD attack alongside a panic attack upon smelling wine as he had gotten closer to the cabin. Many have described Denzel as also having a dislike or discomfort of being touched. Some campers explained that when they went to high-five him, he flinched and seemed more guarded afterward. This has also happened when campers try to give him fist bumps, pat his back, or just accidentally touch him. The only person who has been seen touching him is Milo, although rather rarely. Whenever this happens, it is usually when Denzel and Milo are hanging out, and Milo falls asleep on his shoulder, or when Milo is joking around and using Denzel's arms as an armrest. Denzel doesn't seem to mind whenever Milo does it, but Denzel has been seen to have a smile on his face and is rather happy that the other boy was sleeping on his shoulder or using it as an armrest.

Habits/Flaws/Traits:

Many habits that he has is that he scratches his arms absentmindedly, and may pick at healing skin or bandages. He constantly scans his surroundings. Fidgets with his fingers, sleeves, or the edge of his shirt when he is still. He rehearses what he says before he speaks and sometimes goes quiet mid-conversation. Flinches as sudden sounds, movements, or unexpectant touch. Holds his breath or breathes very shallow in tense situations, he has passed out before by doing this. He avoids drinks, unless he knows where they come from, and usually sniff or inspect one before drinking. Sits in places where there is a wall/tree behind him and where he can see an exit clearly. Must have his dagger in the exact position on his belt and constantly checks if it's still there and if it's in the correct position. Constantly washing his hands, especially after touching things that other people have handled. Counts and mentally organizes things. Spends a lot of long stretches in the strawberry fields, tending them even when he doesn’t need to. Sits under the same tree regularly. Lightly pressing his nails into his palms or rubbing his wrists instead of scratching when he is around Milo. Always positions himself slightly behind or beside Milo rather than directly next to others. 

His flaws are this he is very hypervigilant, deeply avoidant, emotionally guarded, touch-averse, easily startled, he blames himself for everything, he has an extreme fear of any type of alcohol, very avoidant of conflict, depends a bit too much on people he finds comfort in, poor self-advocacy, and multiple trauma-linked habits.

His traits are that he is extremely loyal, cautious, sensitive, very quiet, gentle, he’s reserved, very shy, can be very protective of things he loves or cares for, he is very affection-starved but very affectionate in small ways to people he cares about, he gives trust only in small chances over time, he is anxious, very vigilant, seeks comfort, and is very had to rattle once he has settled emotionally.

Backstory (!WARNINGS FOR THIS SECTION!: Child abuse (physical, emotional, and verbal), child neglect, alcohol abuse/alcoholism, forced substance use, domestic violence, psychological trauma, Humiliation/degradation, Child endangerment, and Childhood exposure to substance use environments. (Plz tell me if i need to add anymore)):

He was born in Gatlinburg, Tennessee btw. He moved around a couple of times though. 

When his mother, Shirley Thomas, found out she was pregnant with Denzel, she wasn’t happy about it. She constantly complained about it to her friends and family, but kept it nonetheless. She had a healthy pregnancy. When she had Danzel, she expected Dionysus to help her raise Danzel, but when he left, she got majorly depressed and mad and started to drink. She also had postpartum depression that was a level 19, it lasted for about a year. During that year, Denzel was often neglected physically and emotionally. He was screamed at a lot during that time. She started to abuse him more harshly when he was 3. 

He had started to get punished for small mistakes, simple accidents, or just for straight up stupid reasons. He was screamed at and beaten based on how drunk she was at the time. An example is that he had accidentally spilled a bit of water on the floor and she screamed at him and gave him a black eye and dragged him upstairs to his room. Shirley had also started to drink heavily and constantly. Sometimes she would bring her friends over and humiliate him in front of them. She often swung between moods a lot and often would either neglect Denzel, verbally abuse him or be verbally cruel, and physically or coercively abuse him. 

By the time Denzel turned 5, he was terrified and I mean terrified of basically everything. CPS had also been called 2 times by this point and Shirley still somehow managed to keep Denzel and not rouse any suspicion. Denzel was also moved to a new school where literally none of the teachers cared at all.

From the time he turned 5 to when he was 12, his mother started to force him to drink alcohol a lot. So much so that he started to show up to school extremely drunk or very hungover. He also became a nervous wreck and people started to avoid him at school due to how odd he acted. CPS was also called 3 more times, and they didn’t do anything, and they actually told people to stop calling them by the third time. Most of the people who called were people outside of the school. Sometimes it was baristas at bars Shirley would take him too when she had no one to watch him. One time it was a babysitter he had when he was 8 (she got fired). Or just random people on the street.

One day, a new student came to the school and became friends with Denzel. That friend was a Satyr and took Denzel to Camp Half-Blood 2 days before his 13th birthday. Denzel was beyond terrified when he arrived there (it had taken like 3 weeks for the Satyr to finally talk him into going to camp half-blood and leaving his mom.) and constantly hid behind trees and such. By the end of his first day though, he was claimed by Dionysus.
