"STOP PUTTING YOURSELF INTO DANGER!" PROMPTS * assorted dialogue for expressing your fear that the person you care about might get themselves hurt if they keep acting like this, adjust as necessary
i thought i told you to stay back.
i love you too much to let you get hurt like this.
this affects me, too, you know.
every time you leave, i sit up all night waiting, praying you'll come back alive.
you keep pulling stunts like this and something bad will happen.
do you have a death wish or something?
this isn't fair to me.
i deserve better than this.
i didn't get any sleep last night because i was so worried about you.
you promised me you'd stop going out at night.
i don't like hearing this.
you've been risking your life, and for what? so you can feel like a goddamn hero?
i said i would handle it.
what the fuck are you doing here?
you told me you'd stay put.
so much for laying low.
you remember how bad it was last time.
seems like you haven't learned anything.
i believe you promised me you'd lay low.
i can't keep doing this.
don't give me that look.
we'll discuss this later.
this stops now.
i'm tired of picking up the pieces once you've left.
you keep throwing yourself into danger.
you don't give a shit about yourself, do you?
i'm sitting here, worried out of my mind, while you're out doing god knows what.
that was really stupid of you, and you know it.
i thought you knew better than this.
what's your excuse this time?
you do realize what this does to me, right? seeing you get hurt like this? you know it hurts me, too?
you really don't give a shit how this affects me, huh.
that was the dumbest possible thing you could have done.
i need you to stop throwing yourself into harm's way.
that was completely unnecessary.
they had it handled.
you didn't need to step in like that.
why do you think you're invincible?
the last time you pulled a stunt like this, it nearly got you killed.
i can't just sit here and watch you get hurt.
what are you trying to prove?
you just like fucking with my heart, don't you.
this shit hurts me, too, you know.
you're not the only one affected by this shit.
you've got a lot of people counting on you to come home every night.
what happens if you don't come back?
you think we can just carry on without you?
you think i can handle things if you end up dead?
i'm not sticking around to watch you get hurt.
you're not even slick.
you think you're invincible, don't you.
quit pretending you've got everything under control.
let someone else do it for a change.
you can't keep putting yourself through shit like this and expect me to just sit back and watch.
i'm done with this.
next time you do this, i'm not coming back.
promise me this is the end.
look me in the eyes and tell me you'll stop doing this.
let the authorities deal with it.
you're making a big mistake.
is it worth dying for?
i've dealt with enough pain over the years.

"A bruising kiss, full of desperation and urgency" Or "A kiss attempting to convince the other party to stay" Or "An emotional kiss, relieved to find the other party alive" Or "A kiss that smears blood everywhere" Or maybe "A possessive kiss out of jealousy" Or if you want to go especially tragic "A first and final kiss before the other party dies." @katsaguri-kase-rp (don't have to do any of them if you aren't vibing with it, I'm just missing the electric tomato lol.)
Sasuke here's the battle, heart in his throat at the strike of a lightning jutsu crackling though the trees.
It wasn't her.
It was the same thing he told himself at every crack of lightning. Every glimpse of strawberry blonde hair on a passing stranger. Every cry for help in the night and every spirited laugh from a pool of water.
He had been wrong yet.
But he still couldn't stop himself from looking.
As he sprints towards the conflict, his rehearsed words garble inside his head -
He's sorry. Shouldn't had said those things. He was angry. He understood if he didn't want to see her anymore, but he wants to if she'll have him.
-Ready even though he knows he won't need them because its-
It is her.
His eyes go wide and Sharingan red and the world slows to a halt.
She's in the middle of a group of missing nin circling around her. Several already dead, tossed to the side. She's exhausted, free of weapons or guards - ambushed. He desperately scanning her for injuries.
Her face is puffy - the beginning of a black eye on her cheek, blood soaked into her braid and in patches on her torn clothes.
His blood is lit on fire. Sword suddenly tight in his hand. These men would burn for touching her. Bloodlust possesses him in a blur. His sword biting through flesh and bone, sending satisfaction icing the hot rage racing through him. The last one falls, but it's still not enough for his fingers to stop trembling with rage.
She’s staring at him, wide-eyed, chest heaving, her braid damp with blood.
She doesn’t speak.
Neither does he.
His grip tightens on his sword. The blood on it isn’t enough. The bodies at their feet aren’t enough. Because she’s standing in front of him, bruised and battered, because she left, because she thought she had to, because he wasn’t there—
His free hand snaps forward, catching her chin. Not gentle. Not careful. His thumb presses into the corner of her mouth, tilting her face up, forcing her to look at him. His Sharingan is still spinning, burning into hers, scanning every cut, every breath—
His blood is still running hot, his pulse still hammering, his fingers still shaking.
"You reckless idiot." He hisses as he surges forward. He kisses her.
It’s not controlled. It’s not careful. It’s bruising, desperate, sharp with everything he didn’t say. His grip doesn’t loosen, his body still coiled with the need to fight, to burn, to never feel that fear again.
And when he rips his mouth from hers, he doesn’t step back. Their breath tangles, hot and unsteady.
“Next time,” his voice is rough. “don’t make me chase you.”
Kase is outnumbered. Not like that's anything new to her. But she's outnumbered by a fair bit and unlike the bullies in Konoha, these Shinobi want her dead. Very, very dead. For the most part she'd held her own, giving worse than she got. But these missing-nin weren't just random criminals. They were bounty hunters. They knew enough about Kase that most of her tricks didn't catch them by surprise and they had brought along a damn Hyuga, a traitor who's Byakugan was able to see and sever the chakra threads for her lightning clones.
That had been when the tables had turned. She'd been half way through a lightning transposition when it happened and half of her chakra had simply vanished.
She'd tried to run, but she had nowhere to go. No backup. She was running out of ideas other than-
No, she'd never used that on more than one target. Even when it worked, the risk of chakra poisoning was too high and if she used it on all of them...
No, not an option. She had to think of a better plan. She had to-
She sent a bolt of lightning at one of the enemies who had begun to inch towards her, but with just one eye her depth perception was shot and she missed. Thunder cracked around her.
And movement flickered through the trees. Kase reached for a Kunai, but her sheaths were all empty. But the shadow didn't come for her. Familiar black hair, simple black clothes, a blade clutched in one hand and...
Red eyes. Sharingan.
Kase's heart skipped a beat. Sasuke. She wasn't sure how he'd found her, if it was just luck or coincidence or if he'd been looking...she doesn't dare hope. His blade is as fast as her lightning, faster even. Kase knew he was deadly, but she'd never seen him like this.
They're all dead before they can realize just how fucked they are.
Then he's looking at her, blood dripping from his blade. And she can't summon a single word. Didn't this prove everything he'd accused her of? That she couldn't handle herself, couldn't solve her own problems, that she needed him to kill for her, even if she didn't ask him too? But this wasn't Konoha, those weren't people who's only crime was being bigoted. These were enemies out for blood.
She expects him to yell, to scold, or worse, to just walk away, to walk away like he did when she fell into Orochimaru's clutches because she was so far beneath him.
He stalks forward, and Kase is rooted to the ground. She can't so much as think as he grabs her chin and she expects anger. It's there, in his eyes, the anger. But there is something else, something burning with an even greater intensity than rage.
And his lips find hers.
Kase has experienced her share of kisses. Soft and sweet and playful and shy and passionate and wanting and this is...
It's so much more. His hesitation, his restraint, it's been stripped away and Kase couldn't feel any more exposed if she was naked. His lips burn with that familiar Uchiha heat that always seems to radiate off of him, like an inferno just underneath the skin. Shock is the only thing that keeps her frozen in place, despite an instant desire to thread her finders into his hair, to pull him closer, to hold onto him and try to convince herself that he's real, that this is real, that it's not just some trick if the mind as she dies.
Her chest heaves as he breaks the kiss and there's something wild and raw in his voice.
"I...I didn't think you'd come after me." Her own voice is thready. She reaches up, as if to touch his face, but her fingers stop just shy, afraid that whatever this is will disappear if she touches him.
"I needed to apologize." He bites out, frustration burning in each syllable.
Apologize—which he hadn’t done at all.
His eyes roam over her shocked face, eyes wide, green like the surface of a turbulent sea, pulling him under, swallowing his thoughts in sync with the storm raging inside him.
There had been no thought to the way his lips crashed into hers—just instinct. Just a need that had been swelling since the beginning of their adventure.
And now—
Shit.
There was no going back from this.
Like the feelings he’d buried had finally in a rage clawed their way out of his chest. It fucking hurt. Already left him feeling empty. Alone. Yearning to be whole again.
Because when hadn’t this feeling been met with dreams fading to night black or silent words carved in cold, grey stone?
Motherfucker.
The goddamn reckless idiot was him.
And still- still -he couldn't stop. His grip on her chin slid back, cupping her neck, pulling in closer—close enough to feel her breath catch against his jaw. To smell the fear lingering on her skin. To feel her front brush against his.
Close enough that she couldn’t run away from him again.
His words, sharp as his drawn blade, soft as her skin beneath his plam and raw as the unguarded truth in his eyes.
"Don't leave again."
Apologize? Kase's jaw would hit the floor if he wasn't holding it in place. Hadn't she been the one to run off out of spite and anger and a stupid, stubborn need to prove him wrong. She'd treated him like everything she'd always tried to claim he wasn't, like the violent criminal that too many thought he was. Instead of letting cooler heads win out, she'd taken one look at him, at his righteous anger and she'd treated him like the same Sasuke who had left her to die at Orochimaru's hands. If anyone should be apologizing...
Her body is trembling. Adrenaline still racing through her system, she faintly recalls a warning from Tenzo, something about stupid decisions in the heat of the moment. But the thought is gone in an instant as she feels his fingers, electric, slide to the back of her neck, ghosting just above her curse mark in a way that sets every nerve ending in her body alight. She's fire and ice and embers and he's a spark waiting to ignite.
Words. God damn it, say something, stupid. But she can't seem to make her voice work, can't seem to get past the the gravel in her throat. He knees have turned to rubber and she has to lean into him just to keep herself upright. Blood is crusting on her skin as it dries but in the moment, Kase can't find it in herself to care. Her fingers spread across his chest, finding a place to rest her head in the hollow of his collarbone. It strikes her that she never really realized how tall he was.
"Not leaving," she manages to choke out, somewhere between a laugh and a whisper, a tangled hornets nest of emotion in her chest fighting to break free, fighting for some kind of outlet, any kind of outlet. fuck. She's trying to breath but their are iron bands around her chest, making it seem impossible.
"Promise. Not leaving again." Her fingers dig into the fabric of his shirt, like he might slip away any instant, vanishing into smoke. The heat of his chest, his smell, all of it envelops her, comforting, although it does nothing for her pounding heart.
"Fuck. Sasuke, I'm sorry. I never should have left in the first place. I'm so glad you found me."
At her words, the tension coiled inside him unravels, loosening on a heavy exhale.
She’s not leaving again.
The thought settles into him, slow and steady, filling the spaces that had felt hollow. He relishes the way she fits against him, the way her scent lingers. It tugs at the edges of a memory relieved too often. That night. The ghost of it drifts over him, and just like that, some of the emptiness eases.
A clatter—his sword, discarded without care.
His free arm curls around her back, and he slowly melts into her, pressing closer until there’s no space left between them. Melts- t’s ridiculous, really, but the only thing it reminds him of is a memory from childhood—his favorite black cat, turning liquid to fit whatever shape it made its home.
He scoffs at her apology, the sound barely more than a breath. Misplaced. Unnecessary.
She had every right to leave.
Every fragile, vulnerable part of herself she’d given him—he had turned against her the moment the chips were down. The things he said… unforgivable. And yet, here he is, asking anyway.
His grip tightens, fingers pressing into fabric, into skin. “Don’t take on a mess that’s mine to fix.” His voice is quiet, but firm. “What happened... You deserve better than that, Kase. I’m sorry.”
He’s glad he found her. The alternative is a thought he won’t entertain.
He exhales, grounding himself in the warmth of her against him, then asks, softer this time.
“Are you hurt?”
Happy Birthday, Kabuto.

"you're a hot mess" @its-sasuke
@its-sasuke
Itachi peeks his head around the door of the refrigerator as hes gathering up an armful of seemingly random snacks. Its almost two am and Itachi just realized that he'd been so focused on studying that he'd forgotten to eat..at all..His stomach growls as he eyes his younger brother with an owlish expression made infinitely stranger by the way his glasses make his eyes look too big for his face.
"And this is news?" he asks around the popsicle wrapper carefully clutched in his teeth.
"Tch." Sasuke scoffs from the kitchen enterance, arms crossed.
"Funny. When I study, it's 'unhealthy' to eat junk food. But when it's you, it's fine."
He continues, his gaze flat as he takes in the absurd picture his honored older brother is making. If Naruto and Sakura could see this…
Itachi lets the refrigerator door fall shut, adjusting the bounty of snacks in his arms to make room for the popsicle, leaving his mouth free.
"I never said it was fine, I'm pretty sure I just agreed with you that I am, in fact, a hot mess." Itachi shrugs, "but one of us should develop healthy habits and it's too late for me." If their parents hadn't doomed him, then his friendship with Shisui certainly did. He swore that Shisui never ate anything other than sweets. Itachi at least tried to eat better, when he remembered to eat anything at all.
Sasuke turns his head, gripping his bicep as his gaze flickers toward Itachi. No matter what, he could never seem to say the right thing to him.
"Whatever." He bites out, irritation threading through his voice at his brother’s flimsy excuse. Itachi could do anything if he wanted to—always had. It annoyed the hell out of him. Even so, the frustration doesn't quite drown out the memories. Nights spent studying in his room, only to find food left beside him—silent gestures that spoke louder than words.
He exhales, pushing the thought aside.
"I'm making an omelette if you want one." He throws it out like an afterthought, already stepping into the kitchen. He brings a pan to the stove, waiting for Itachi to move aside from the fridge—whatever the hell he had taken. The cold tile seeps into his socked feet and he's glad he threw on his hoodie after getting home from his workout. It's not a lie - he is starving and in need of some protein.
Itachi bites back a sigh and manages to not roll his eyes. Teenagers. Didn't matter what Itachi said, he could tell Sasuke that the sky was blue and his brother would find a reason to snark back at him and argue that it's orange.
Still, he slides away from the fridge, setting most of what he pulled out down on the dining room table for a moment as he peels open the popsicle and pops it in his mouth, savoring the sweet, fruity taste.
"If you're offering," he sits at the table and starts arranging his treasures by type of snack. Sweet and salty kettle corn went next to chips, colorful animal shaped marshmellows went with frosting colored animal cookies. Toasted coconut yogurt went with a strawberry coconut drink that Itachi had become fond of. He wondered if any of them would pair well with eggs.
"Who taught you how to cook?" Itachi couldn't remember ever seeing Sasuke helping their mother in the kitchen, and Itachi himself had certainly never shown his brother, not that he'd been around enough to teach Sasuke much. Guilt still ate at him every time he had to be out of the village for a mission.
"No one. Its not that hard." He lied, grabbing the carton of eggs, cheese and a ripe tomato.
It actually had been a little hard. Getting the egg to not stick in the pan was unexpected, and he still has to use his sharingan to get the flip just right. But it was worth it to keep Sakura from teasing him about having "girl dinner" everytime she saw him put together a meal in the kitchen.
A glance at Itachi at the table and Sasuke's eyebrow twitches involuntary. When had they even bought that sugary junk?
"What are you studying this time?" He asks,
Slicing the tomato and popping it into his mouth. The subtle sweetness across this tongue was just enough for him.
Itachi bit off the top of the Popsicle, letting the piece melt in his mouth as he watches Sasuke work. It wasn't the same as sitting with their mother as she cooked, but Itachi found the familiarity of it relaxing none the less. He wished that they'd both gotten more time with their mother.
He has to look away, though, as Sasuke eats a chunk of raw tomato. That was one thing Itachi could never understand about his brother, and the thought of the soft, mushy texture on his tongue made his stomach sour.
"a book on dead languages. I think that's the key to cracking some bits of code we intercepted, but a number of the languages share the same roots, so it's making things a bit more challenging." It was nice that Sasuke was older now, and as a full blown Shinobi himself, there was less Itachi had to try and keep secret. He still had his secrets, of course, every Anbu did and it didn't matter what age or rank Sasuke held, unless he was Hokage their was some information that Itachi could never reveal. But this was unclassified, and there were several teams through T&I and even a few non Shinobi scholars who were working on it. Itachi wasn't officially part of the team, but it gave him something to do on his days off.
"no tomato in mine, if you don't mind." He says, biting off another chunk of popsicle.
"I'll just dump some sugar instead." He teased dryly over his shoulder
He started heating the pan before moving onto the eggs, cracking them into a bowl with efficiency.
The task Itachi described had Sasukes eyes glazing over. Hanging out with the idiot (Naruto) was affecting his attention span.
"Is this for an official mission or are you volunteering again?" He asked innocently enough, but his shoulders unconsciously tensed up. It seemed like his brother was always working, even now. When would he get some hobbies? Unless this was his hobby. An image of Sakura curled up under a giant scroll chewing on the end of a pen like she was working on the Sunday crossword pops in his head. He shook the image out of his head.
"Really? I just don't like the texture of tomatoes, it's not because they aren't sweet enough. I do enjoy things that aren't sweet." He just happens to prefer sweet things more. He sighs, settling further into his chair and looking over his snacks again, thinking of different ways he could categorize them, before replying.
"Not official, no. But I have a good head for languages, besides I enjoy reading. If it wasn't this, then I'd have borrowed one of Anko's books on poison or maybe a biology textbook from the hospital." Or potentially one of Kakashi's books, but Itachi doesn't need to share that with his little brother.
"I just lost track of time tonight, I found a promising passage and by the time I got through translating I realized it was dark out."
Sasuke eyes the hoard of goodies for several seconds, then shifts his gaze to his brother—message clear—before turning back to the task at hand.
As he listens to Itachi, an image of Sakura flashes through his mind again. This time, she’s asleep, hunched over her kitchen table, head resting on a textbook, her ponytail messy and lopsided, a pencil still loosely gripped in her slim fingers.
Then, an ugly emotion crashes through warmth spreading in his chest.
Sasuke hates reading. He can't sit still that long without his fingers itching to fidget or his muscles begging to move.
Yet his ever-perfect brother spends his day off buried in books like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Books on poisons and medicine even.
"Only old people and nerds like Sakura waste their time reading, Aniki," Sasuke mutters as he pours the eggs into the sizzling pan. "Shouldn’t you be out with Shisui or—I don’t know—actually having a life?"
