Fangirl All Day

Regret seems to be the theme of this show; it's just not exactly romantic at this point. I don't think so. He seems to regret how they ended things and the fact that she isn't a film director like she so passionately wished when they were teens. He must feel guilty at the fact that he "stole" her dream. He got to make it and is celebrated for his work.

And her regret is quite obvious. This isn't the life she wanted. She said something in the first place that got me, "If I'm not the adult I wanted to be, does that mean I failed?" That right there tells me so much about her already.

I'm not gonna defend him. That was a jerk move. But I also think that was the point. He wanted to get a reaction out of her. Wanted her to agree out of pure anger. Didn't work, though.

I like our female lead. I think she's resilient and was forced to be realistic and do her best with what she had. She didn't deserve what happened to her, but I do think that no one made her get off that bus, and whether or not the truck of doom was there, sent by Soobin's father, is another of the many mysteries at play.

I made the mistake of looking into Twitter's opinions on the show, and oooooh boy, do I regret it. It's funny how I watched this episode and thought there was still more to be discussed and revealed, because it is a developing story, and then, somehow, others will end up with the exaggerated opinion that this man is the absolute worst, the epitome of evil, and a walking red flag. For what? Stalking her? Trying to kiss the girl? Telling her not very nice things? I mean, if anything, that makes him a traditional male lead, just because he isn't being exactly sweet and gentle or a yearning man looking into the distance, doesn't make it any less true.

It's also very obvious to me that he doesn't know what happened to Jaeyi after he left for the States, what happened to her family or the accident. And that his father was an asshole (probably physically abusive). He had his own shit going on at home, which is why he was by Jaeyi's side all the time. There's a lot more going on that we don't know yet.
