Do you see me wielding it?
No, fair point.
Who does?
... tell me more about this hemalurgy thing. And perhaps then we can come to an arrangement.
Sure.
If you take a metal spike, and drive it through someone, you can take any power or ability they have, and grant it to another person.
... has that been attempted on Fused?
And how does your specific arrangement work? Being able to have a body would be convenient.
Not yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work
This body was sculpted without a mind or soul inhabiting it, and the spike was used to attach my Cognitive Shadow to it.
How the hell did that not count as human transmutation
Why would it count as transmutation?
You built a human body.
The body wasn't human when it was built
And your soul isn't in constant torment?
Define Torment
You seem to be aware of your surroundings and not attacking everything around you indiscriminately, so it's probably not the same
Probably not, although that sounds a bit like those shades over on Threnody.
not again

*rhythm of curiosity* Wow, you’re the smallest human I’ve met yet, what’s your name?
@theoneandonlyeshonai
deep breath. trying not to scream. he isn't 15 any more. strained smile
You've only met giants?
*rhythm of consideration* from what I’ve seen I’d assume people of your planet would assume that people from my homeland are giants.
Now that's just unfair...

Are… are you confused about how artificial bodies work?
@a-wandering-biomancer
(She’s being genuine)
I've seen a lot of artificial bodies that didn't work out. Raising the dead'll cost you an arm and a leg.
Ed knocked on his prosthetic leg. It let out a hollow, metallic ring.
Raising the dead? I’ve seen Biomancers shift their souls between bodies like that are entirely different
With alchemy, that doesn't stick. The soul and body have to match, otherwise it's a slow process of rejection.
*narrows her eyes*
But what if the body wasn’t a good fit for the body to begin with?
I don't dare experiment further. Every time I attempted anything to do with my body, I ended up at the gate, and the thing that guards the gate likes me. That's not a good thing.
What Gate?
It's really hard to describe. The thing about the Gate is that you can never explain it to someone who hasn't seen it. It's an arbiter. If you try to bring back a dead person with alchemy, it tries to show you that it was never possible in the first place, but it doesn't understand what information is relevant and what isn't. It overloads you with knowledge that you can't ever express to someone else except in fragments, and that knowledge isn't free.
… alright. Our experiences with necromancy are very different it would seem.
What was yours like?
You open a portal to the relevant afterlife, you call your particular soul to it, you draw them through, you place it in the body.
It’s like ice fishing.
Are… are you confused about how artificial bodies work?

'Edward', meaning 'in the direction of Ed'
Edward, meaning "to ward against Ed"
