“The Weaver’s Garden”

*coughs up blood* i-it’s… finally… done…

I have been working on this on-and-off for MONTHS. Just color correcting this took me six-and-a-half hours. I sketched Penelope months ago, modeled her loom, chair and the flower pots in Blender. Rendering her loom in Photoshop took FOREVER. Other than the cloth textures and a few rough textures I used on the floor and wall, I rendered and textured all of this by hand. The roses were completely freehanded and while I used a leafy vine brush for the acanthus, I colored each of the petals and added the veins for each one by hand. I also tried out a new soft-shading style that I think turned out nicely, rendering harsh light in a dark scene has always been a pain in the ass for me, but I really like how it came out. I also tried to mix some softness and hardness with the light, and I rendered all the garnet gems individually.

Anyway, I am relieved to be done with this. My girl here is TIRED and she needs a nap. Can someone please let her have some peace and quiet??

Drawing your attention here with this lovely art made by the wonderful @ithacantrickster, the art that depicts my first modern OdyDio AU, entitled Cleanse Me with Pleasure. It's angsty, it's spicy, it's fluffy, and it's comforting, a combo that's difficult to pass am I right? 🤭

I wrote the story for myself, for my birthday to be exact, a gift from me to me, so, now a year later, I'm coming back to it and inviting you all to read it :3
