Zoro, Luffy, *Chopper, Shanks, & Gojo.

You frequent this bar, for better or worse, a beer. Simple, effective, tasty. The bar gets quiet when you're there, the other frequents knowing not to screw around with you. You use it to your advantage, but it is a little annoying; nobody ever talks to you other than the bartender.

To be fair, you're not so talkative either.

Most pirates are the creepy-kind. Weirdos with even weirder beards and less guts than their own beer belly. Meaning... why even give them a chance?

Only a few minutes pass after your arrival, and the bar's filling up. Groups of pirates, you assume, pile in, gnarling their order and sitting at a vacant wooden table.

A younger, more colourful, group sits adjacent to you.

You paid no mind, until some burly old man tried to pick a fight. He yelled in their faces, before smashing his beer on the bar, and, successfully covering you in the foamy-sticky substance. Truly, some people have no consideration for the innocent bystander.

"Can I help you??" you snap, shooting up from your bar stool.

"Are you with them?" he spits back, bending his neck just so you could smell his rotten breath.

…them?

Before you could reconsider, you're slamming him head-first on the hard wooden bar counter, knocking him out. The other pirates looked taken off guard; presumably not expecting that reaction out of you, the rest of the patrons silent.

You decide leaving now is your best option, before someone shows up to find their friend on the floor.

Months later, you find yourself in the Land of Wano.

You’d heard of Kaidou’s plans for New Onigashima while searching for another island to explore. Sure, you were considered a pirate, but you weren’t in it for fame or fortune; craving the experience of it all instead. You’d explored the country, familiarized yourself with the history and culture, and joined the side of the Straw Hats— the colourful group at the bar, you came to learn.

Now: buildings are flaming, fights are raging everywhere, and the sounds of explosions are ringing in the distance constantly.

You were running the flaming halls, searching rooms for anyone injured or caught in the fire. Somehow, wrapped up in the sounds of destruction all around you, a group of men working under Kaidou slipped your ears. They’d been following you, waiting for the perfect moment to group up and take you all at once.

Who you did notice, however, was a man sprinting in your direction from down the hall. Your hair nearly stood up on end, your body screaming at you to perform some type of defence. He was looking right through you (so you thought), swords drawn, teeth bared. He looked quite intimidating; save for the green hair.

Just before he reached you, his sword swiped against another just two inches shy of your left ear. The clash slicing some of your white-blonde hair clean off. But— you had already figured it out before a single curl hit the floor.

You couldn’t help to be glad he wasn’t aiming for your neck (because he most certainly would have had it).

You had ducked under the swords upon their impact, revolving on your heel to face the group of goons. The green-haired Straw Hat already had the first three handled, so you planted your foot and pounced on the next.

It was quick work, between the two of you.

“You broke his nose.”

You hadn’t even remembered touching a nose, to be honest. You frowned, looking at the pile of defeated men on the floor.

“Which one?”

He chuckles briefly in response to your question, sliding his swords back into their respective encasing. His arms flexing effortlessly (or, maybe on purpose).

“No, at the bar that day.” he pauses “That was you, right?”

“…Depends who’s asking.” you wink.

Deciding that standing around isn’t too beneficial to the current situation, he offers you to follow. You had clicked well, bantering between brawls and fighting together like how a puzzle piece fits.

His swords and your claws working in unison.

Later, when the crew is celebrating the defeat of Kaidou over a drink, you’re sitting alone and taking in the view. The green haired pirate joins you, his scent alerting you of his presence before he’d sat down next to you.

“We’ll be leaving soon, It would be a shame to not have your name.” he speaks quietly, sounding much different compared to the adrenaline-fed, raspy voice you heard earlier.

Of course you knew his name, thanks to the word of Wano. People were talking about the Straw Hats everywhere, it was hard to not hear. You hadn’t considered he’d want yours.

“Y/n. Leaving me here after all we’ve been through?” you chuckle.

Kicking back, he rests his back against a rock and tucks his arms behind his head. His eyes are closed, breathing steady, but alert and conscious.

“Things to do, places to be, Luffy says.” he jokes, letting a sigh out and stretching his sore neck.

You lounge back next to him, shoulders touching. Eyes closed, the atmosphere taking over your senses. It’s serene, almost, if you tune out the hollering and music of the celebration.

His body was warm, where it met yours. You could smell the smoke and blood remaining on his skin. You really would miss him, it’s a different type of feeling to have someone you work so well with.

Fighting together, you cleared paths easily. Bonnie and Clyde, almost. What you couldn’t catch Zoro did, and you had his back in the same way. You mutually agreed on a plan every time, without any communication; it came naturally— a rare occurrence.

“Do you have a crew?” he asks.

“Mmm-mm,” you hum “Just me.”

You weren’t sure of the real meaning of this question, but soon after his fingers found their way to discreetly brush on your thigh.

“Who’s Zoro with over there?” Jinbe quizzes to chopper, who works to bandage a few surface scrapes.

“She’s a lone pirate!” he deduces. “A Zoan user, really strong…” he trails off, concentrating on the task at hand.

Jinbe chuckles to himself, studying the girl. It seems Chopper is right; she has the ears and tail of a lion, not to mention her mane of curly hair. He heard she had retractable claws, too. He wonders her origin.

Though, things are too joyful to be so inquisitive. He trusts Zoro’s judgment.

“A lone pirate, you say?”

“Mm, yes,” chopper confirms, stepping back to admire his work and placing his hands on his hips.

“Why do you ask?”

Jinbe chuckles again, nodding his head in the direction of Zoro and the girl. He noticed their friendliness when Zoro had first joined her, something that wasn’t too easy to come by with the green haired fire-cracker.

Jinbe leans down to match Choppers height, a mischievous grin on his face.

“I’m not sure I have seen Zoro do that before.” he states.

The click of Chopper’s feet as he turns, and then the full body shock that elopes him is enough to have Jinbe holding back a hysterical cackle. Obviously Chopper hadn’t seen it happen either.

The two of you were met for a kiss when his eyes landed on you. Slow and sensual, causing the innocent little deer to blush a deep shade of red.

Zoro’s hand held your hip just above the ruffles on your shorts, and your palm bared his chest. You were still in the same relaxed position against the rock with your bodies rotated slightly to reach, eyes closed again.

“Zoro!!??? Whaa-!!!” squeals Chopper, gaining the attention of the others.

You blush pink, but Zoro’s smug smile says it all.

What an interesting match, Jinbe thinks.

It’s not a secret that nobody knows much about Zoro’s past. It’s a mystery to the ship, no matter how hard Nami bugs him or Chopper offers a listening ear.

You were young, practicing swords when the ship docked, unbeknownst to both of you. You were best friends. Partners in crime. Shivers run down his spine when he thinks of what could’ve happened to you. Dirty, mean pirates who took you from him. He thinks about it all the time.

When the ships quiet and Zoro’s staring out to sea, you’re on his mind. Sometimes he dreams of you, or sees your reflection in the shine of his sword. It drives him mad to think he couldn’t save you back then.

Pirate Hunter Zoro came to be not long after your disappearance. He searched everywhere for you, numerous ships, crews, pirate islands, but he could never find you. He figured you were dead, or worse, still on a ship somewhere. Until he joined Luffy’s crew, you were all he lived for.

Until one day at sea, Luffy and the crew were readying for battle as a ship approached them. The ship didn’t seem threatening, but you learn to be prepared for anything. It glided ahead until the ships were side by side, no more than 50 meters apart.

When Zoro’s eyes scanned the ship, nothing really stood out to him. It looked old and rickety, but well loved and maintained. He thought nothing special of the crew, until his eyes scanned past your h/c hair and s/c skin.

Zoro felt his heart hit his feet and his face pale. Everyone else on the ship seemed confused that the ship did such a maneuver just to sit there, but Zoro could feel you. Your eyes met, and he felt like fainting.

“I’ve heard about you!” you call, confusing everyone except Zoro.

Luffy mumbles something along the lines of who are you? before he looks to the green haired man and sees his shock; rattled to the bone. He felt like he couldn’t move, frozen in place just under the gaze of someone he thought he’d never see again.

Zoro lifts a sword high into the sky, feeling the eyes of his (still confused) crew on him. His hands shook, and he tried to blink tears out of his eyes before they had enough time to pool and fall.

You raise your own sword in return, a wide happy smile on your face. Butterflies swimming in your stomach. You can’t believe you’d finally found them. Him.

“What took you so long?!” Zoro calls back. His voice strong and steady (he’s thankful).

-Gojo, in my opinion, is the type to be soooo in his head when he’s jealous. Like, all calm, cool and collected *insert sunglasses and finger guns* on the outside, but plotting 6 different ways he could literally mur-[redacted].

-*cue “I’ll murder you!~” scene*

-EXCEPT!!! if you confront him about it. Then he goes all sad puppy dog.

-I definitely see him confidently butting into conversations to steal back the spotlight, throwing his arms over your shoulders or performing some sort of physical touch just to get the point across.

-But not in a hostile way! :)) He’s definitely too nice :) and :)) understanding :))) to be passive aggressive to whoever’s stealing all of your attention from him. <3~

-It causes him physical discomfort though. Like, suddenly he feels impatient and on edge. and WHINY.

- *glares daggers* “Gojo!” “Whaaat! I didn’t do anything :(((“

-If you look over at him and catch his eye, he’s definitely smiling uncomfortably and waving. (i’m visualizing this with the ‘put your hand out!’ scene.) idk why but it just makes sense to me

-He can’t focus because all he can think about is wanting your attention back.

-*is pouting*

-If you’re in private and he’s feeling a little ignored he’ll just be as annoying as possible until you give in and ask what he needs. Nudging, huffing, sighing, etc, etc.

-Footsies under the table when you’re out to dinner and not sharing.

-The pure possessiveness that takes over if an unwanted guest is just trying too hard ( ie, weird guy at a bar). It’s kinda scary and hot.

It’s quiet on the ship. All you can hear is the waves crashing outside and the snores of a few other crew members nearby. The view from your window is uninteresting too, just the dark waters and occasional flash of moonlight from above. You try to clamp your eyes closed to somehow force sleep on your body, which never works, but you convince yourself that this time could be the first.

Ten minutes pass of the eye-clenching sleeplessness, and you’ve given up. Laying in bed obviously isn’t doing any good, so maybe a snack will set your mind at ease? You think about the scolding Sanji will give you in the morning for nosing around his kitchen, but you shrug and let your feet carry you outside of your room anyway.

When you round the corner into the kitchen, you’re surprised (or not so surprised?) to see Luffy in the same position you are. He’s leaned against the counter staring out into space with tired puffy eyes— like he’d woke less than a few minutes ago and decided he needed a snack. No judgement.

He soon notices your presence, smiling gently and offering to share the grapes he’s munching on. You decline, instead opting for the fried rice you’d somehow convinced Sanji to save for you. Simply taking it out of the fridge to eat cold and pouring a glass of juice for both you and Luffy.

You sit together quietly snacking, listening to the ocean, snores, and each other. Luffy’s eyeing your fried rice (the guy has no self control!), so you scoop up some of the best rice and toppings and hold it to Luffy for taking.

Soon enough, the snacks are finished and Luffy places the empty dishes into the sink. He looks tired, rubbing his eyes and stretching before looking at you with a blank expression. You rarely see Luffy in his tired, calm state. It’s cute! you think.

“Are you ‘gonna sleep tonight?” he asks and you groan, covering your eyes with your hands.

“Wish I could.”

“Well come with me!” he smiles “You can’t be all alone!”

You giggle at Luffy thinking he’s joking until he holds out his hand. He ushers you to take it, and you do, and now he’s giddily leading you to captains quarters without even giving you a second to think. Luffy’s big smile should be concerning (especially at this hour), but you pay no mind and allow him to pull you along.

You don’t recall ever being in Luffy’s quarters before, but it’s about how you’d expect. Sheets of paper covering tables, photos, and his personal belongings scattered around but somehow still neatly. His bed, while unmade, looks the comfiest of any bed you’d seen on the ship; fit for a captain.

“Get comfy, y/n!” Luffy says, stepping over to blow out a candle to leave the room in darkness.

You do get comfy, slipping into his bed like it was made to be. It feels like the blankets double your warmth and hug you just in the right way, and his pillow is the perfect cool temperature. He slides in too, careful to avoid accidentally knocking into you in the dark, but wrapping an arm around your midpoint and pulling your body close to him when he’s settled.

Luffy draws shapes on your arm to help your sleepiness kick in, but the fact that he’s cuddling with you in his bed… sleep is definitely not going to find you tonight. You try to calm your beating heart, but to feel his bare legs against yours, how he’s holding you against him, his fingers dancing on your skin, and his breath gently hitting the back of your neck, you’re wide awake.

You can feel the blush on your face, but Luffy seems unbothered. You try to match his slow breathing, and it helps, but you can still only think about him. How couldn’t you? You’ve got butterflies. Oh god. You think about his arm resting on your hip. You wonder if his eyes are closed, or if he’s thinking about you too? You try to listen to his heartbeat.

You don’t realize you dozed off until the sun shines through Luffy’s window. He pulls you closer in rejection to the sun, burying his face into your neck. What a soft side of Luffy, you think to yourself. The butterflies from last night come back and you wonder if he feels them too. Though his snoring says he isn’t feeling much of anything, right now.

When you wake for the second time, the ship’s sounds consist of Sanji’s cooking, Zoro, Chopper and Usopp chatting close by, Franky, Nami, Robin and Brook in the distance. But Luffy still is wrapped around you, while awake, but holding you close. You smile to yourself… you could get used to this.

Just worry about what the rest of the ship will say when you emerge from Luffy’s quarters!
