Preview of the Reactor Simulation Interface as of Version 1.05a

Recently, the decision to postpone the release of the Math Application was precipitated by the clear non-conformity of the code it used.

Part of why the non-comformity arose was that during the almost 11 months of development, was that my ability to design more complex, and efficient code improved vastly.

The section of code in question for reformating is the entire statement involving how and what the program is supposed to display when it comes up with a random question. In the older code, the statements and decision structure are rather disorganized, the code for displaying the problem ends up mixed in with the code that also functions to decide the problem. Because of the stipulated long-term development cycle for this program, I came to the conclusion that it is in the best interest of future additions to postpone the release by about 2 weeks, in order to allow me time to clear up the non-conforming code. 

If I am able to clear up the faults sooner than the projected date of October 1st, then you will be notified as the release date will be set earlier.

Recent changes:

- Better multi-step equations, are more random and not as predictable.

- Fixed an issue with how the startup module would parse the users information.

- Wrote framework for multistep solver.

We have decided to begin on a small new project:

The Sudoku Solver

The Purpose of this application is to solve any sudoku puzzle based on the numbers the user enters.

The user enters the layout provided by any sudoku puzzle and the program will attempt to answer / solve the puzzle.

This is an experiment that is being conducted to hopefully uncover some new methods of data analysis for usage in the Math App.

We are excited at the potential discoveries the development of this application will advent.

Progress was made this evening on the following:

+ Multistep equations are now a bit more stable, and will generate with more precision. It is now impossible for a failed problem to even be displayed.

+ Fixed issues regarding how user data was saved after a session. Currently, this data is not yet saved to the profile properly yet.

+ Fixed issues regarding the interface. Some problems with the alignment of the GUI components on operating systems that are not Windows 7 have been identified.

+ More code framework added for the soon to be implemented dynamic difficulty systems.

Hello all, the development Hiatus officially ends tommorow. Work on the Math Application will be resumed, as well as other small projects.

Thank you for your patience, we look forward to bringing you more progress on our projects this summer!

An tentative end-of-summer work schedule has been written out, and currently if progress continues at the rate it was pre-hiatus, Math App Version 5.0.0.000 will be released somewhere in the begining of august.

Beyond August 6th, the schedule becomes rather unpredictable with the advent of the school year.

Regular development announcements will commence after tomorrow, on a weekly basis.

Today, the multi-step equations system has been drafted and implemented after a two week review of the proposed addition to the program.

Work is now underway to marry it to the existing systems that are used in the single step equation generation. Currently, the program only generates a random multi-step equation without any customizable generation settings, but this will soon be addressed, and fixed.

Progress made today on the Blacklisting system.

The program now can read from your user profile the list of parameters that describe the problem that is to be skipped if the program trys to generate that problem.

Additionally, several modes of blacklisting have been completed including: Combination and Result.

          Combination type specifies if any combination of the descriptors specified are found, it will skip that problem.

  Result Mode: This parameter type checks if the result of the problem matches any that are in the descriptor. It has two seperate sub-modes.

The First sub-mode is simmilar to the Combination one above but also checks against the problem result.

The Second mode ignores the type of operation, the 2 numbers in the operation and skips every problem that has the specified result.

Isometry Design,

This is a program I have been developing over the course of the last 5-6 months, mainly for younger children in order to drill them over 1-step, mathematic operations. Currently, it is in version 4.7.6.026, and features a multitude of customizable settings over how problems should be generated, etc.

It features a user system, with user profiles to individually track your progress.

A more comprehesive manual and explanation of all of its features is soon to come, as well as a downloadable copy some time in the future.

Currently, it is in a closed beta for development, but once version 5.0.0.000 is completed, it will be released to the public.
