It still bothers me that not a single Marauder got to see Snape’s true nature. They all died under the assumption that he was loyal to Voldemort- not even Lupin got the satisfaction of finding out he was right about Snape.

What I will always find crazy and terrifying is that people actually believe James never SA'd Snape or if he did, that memory was completely "biased" because Snape hated the Marauders.

Okay, so on the one hand, Snape going alone after the troll makes sense considering he had the job of hunting down Quirrel and seeing what he was doing. On the other hand, the way it was described as Snape being the only one there while all the other teachers went to safety paints a very funny mental image in my mind of Snape grumbling as he dashed around about how they're all exploiting him and hiding behind the youngest of them.

Or the conversation that led to it going like "Severus, go after the troll!" "What, who, me? Why?" "Because you're a fit young man and the rest of us are all old and frail." "O-Old and frail?! Rolanda teaches Quidditch, why can't you send her?" A yell of "SEVERUS" from everyone and off he scurries while grumbling about it under his breath.

Severus being the Youngest Teacher just gives me life ok

Yes, this is targeted towards a specific fic/ fic author, but they used a slur that’s (to my knowledge) derogatory towards eastern asian people

This wasn’t for educational purposes, or so further a specific plot about racism or the time period- it was just to further a narrative about a character they didn’t like. (My rant about it below)

Ignore the harsh language I used but I was a bit annoyed

Tom riddle and Severus might have had similar backgrounds, hell Tom had it worse as he knew nothing about magical society and no way to prove he was a half blood, but I don’t think he faced classism in the same direct aggressive way Snape did, mainly for one reason-Tom is attractive, and very much so, which makes him much more privileged in hogwarts, because a major part of classism is thinking that poor people are ugly, rude and dirty-uncivilised folk, which is much harder to believe about someone who’s charismatic and handsome like riddle but easy to believe with Snape, ie- Tom is basically “one of the good ones.”
