#my best friend em#they mean the world to me#if i could spend every day doing something with them i would in an instant#they always make my days better#and their enthusiasm is so infectious#plus they're so silly and smart#i love them so much#gardening with my bare hands#feeling the dirt between my fingers#the difference textures#gently bringing life to the creatures and plants around me#birds#kinda goes unsaid but i'm obsessed#and tying into that my grandparents#partly because they are the people who got me into birds#taking me out to be in and observe nature for as long as i've been alive#but also because they have been there for every part of my life#every hurdle and every joy#and have supported me and loved me every step of the way#including learning so much new information when i came out as bisexual and trans#and unlearning bigotry and biases they had previously#and finally siphonophores and marine biology in general#my love for and interest in siphonophores got me to exactly where i wanted to be in life#going to uni#studying siphonophores and so many marine ecosystems#making the best friends#surveying salt marshes at ridiculously early hours with wonderful people#being accepted as who i am#travelling to see wonderful places and meet wonderful people#life is so full of love and joy and i am eternally happy i didn't kill myself when i was at my most depressed - i love being full of love
