hi @taylorswift! i’m posting another update because it’s been almost a year since my last one and to be honest, you’re like the only person i want to talk to right now (even though i don’t think you’ll ever see this but that’s okay, it feels good to get it out there…you know?).

in the last month, i spent over a week in the hospital and my health has just been plummeting. i just left a really difficult appointment again, and we decided i need three tests and then i’ll be back on chemotherapy. this was a really hard decision to make for a lot of reasons, but i’m really trying to turn things around and really, really hoping it works this time. i’ve spent the last four years on and off treatments like this, and as i’m sure you understand, it’s not easy to do.

the main reason i’m posting this is because i literally cannot thank you enough for how much you have helped me through all of this. i’m sure it sounds dumb, but as i told you in person years ago, your music is the first thing i put on when i leave appointments like this to help bring a sense of comfort. you’re the topic of conversation during every treatment, you’re what everyone uses to put a smile on my face. you help distract me so much, and you’re the first person i turn to during the highs and the lows. i’ve had such a special connection with you and your music for so long now, and it’s really been the thing that’s gotten me through. so thank you. i miss you so much and i hope things are going well for you. i’d give you the whole world if i could, and you already have my whole heart. love you, t.

My girlfriend is one of Taylor’s biggest fans. She is Maria, and almost 10 months ago she was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease which causes necrosis in her muscles (death of cells). She’s only 22 and has had to give up everything she did in her life, as she can’t move or even open a bottle by her own.

In the next few days she will have another session of chemotherapy and other very aggressive treatments. She’s been holding on, always trying to smile, but the truth is everything is getting worse and she can’t take it anymore.

We’ve been together for 7 years, and these have been incredibly difficult months, full of pain and tears.

She’s losing hope, so I would love to give her a surprise and get a message from Taylor, or anything that gives her strength to keep fighting. I don’t know how it could be done, if it even could be done. She uses Instagram (mariajrus5) even though she doesn’t post any more pictures to keep this private, but I don’t really know what to do. I need her to believe that she‘ll get better soon, cause she has to…

We spend the time in hospital watching Taylor’s shows, interviews, videos, etc. cause that’s the only thing that cheers her up, or at least makes her forget the pain for a moment.

Last year she went to London (we are from Spain) with her sister, just for Taylor’s concert.
