“Christians, but a lot of people seem to wait for some sort of end of the world. Rapture, zombies, comets — pick your poison.” Her fingertips tapped against the bar counter after they had waved the bartender down, silently asking for a refill. “Personally I’m a fan of chaos but people should know that it doesn’t help prevent anything. Shouldn’t that be the main priority?”

“Hey, I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with anticipating the zombie apocalypse!” they said, mostly joking. “And that would certainly be a good amount of chaos. I think it’s more that people don’t know what to do, so they just resort to the fist thing in their brains. Unfortunately, that tends to be panic. Although, I don’t think I can blame them.”

Jordi shook his head. “No, I’m fine right now with my tea, thank you though,” he replied. “Yeah, it’s horrible, right? I just can’t believe these things keep happening.”

The boredom from their work was the only thing that gave Isabel no reservations about sliding into the seat across from him. “It’s wild. You’d think one, maybe two, maybe. But this is starting to get out of hand, like a serial killer or something.”

Jordan wasn’t exactly one to tune into things, he was always distracted by something. This time it was the shaky table, that made his tea swing back and forth in his cup. He didn’t even realize someone was talking to him for a good minute. “Wait, I’m sorry, what were you saying?” Jordi asked. “I got distracted.”

Dahlia was sitting by the bar, newspaper open with the terrible news, nursing her drink with satisfaction. Humans were worse than the supernatural but death was death and she enjoyed it in whatever capacity it was given to her. “People keep waiting for the rapture but when bodies begin to pile up, it’s suddenly chaos.” She was speaking out loud but it wasn’t directed towards anyone in particular, it was small talk for whoever took the bullet.

They narrowed their eyes at that idea, taking a long sip from their glass, effectively finishing it off before waving at the bartender for another. “I’m not sure who’s actually waiting for any kind of rapture. It makes sense that people are freaking out about this, don’t you think? It’s just a lot for the short amount of time.”
