Snippets of an actual conversation I overheard and committed to memory while waiting in the nail salon:

—"What are you watching?"

"Oh, just some of those TikTok clips of this show, House M.D., you seen it?"

—"I've heard of it... I think... isn't it just a medical show like Grey's Anatomy or somethin?"

"No, no, no, House is much better. He just solves all these really complex medical cases. Like, I actually admire him. I really look up to his intellect."

—The other woman nods along.

"He's just so insightful, he always knows what's up. Plus, he's got this scruffy look about him."
