Mary Ann was thrown from a great height by her father, only to fall into Dante's arms & become Lady. It was fate. Unlike her, Dante understood it immediately.

I love how they emphasized the painful resemblance between Lady and Vergil, which is completely in line with the canon.

Because these two are really too important for Dante.

Now, a completely canon parallel: Vergil in Arkham Mansion((in Mary Ann's house), Lady on Dante's porch (DevilMayCry, a name she will utter a year later).

Vergil literally admits that he understands the Lady's desire for strength/skills and her willingness to fight for what she considers important. In this regard, she is closer to him than his own twin brother.

I love how Vergil acts as a demon-temptress in this scene: he offers Lady a deal, but she has already chosen Dante, so she doesn't even listen to the terms. Vergil's smug expression as Lady leaves Arius/Banes for his own brother is priceless😏

➡️and the voluntary departure of Trish. All this is superimposed on a complex of guilt for a lot of failures and tragedies - above all the loss of his mother, the stubborn unwillingness of his brother to stay in the world of people and the feeling of belonging to the family,⬇️

➡️ to humanity. That's why I love DMC4 so much - Dante is happy and cheerful again, he has let go of his bitterness over his brother, Lady has returned to him, and he has found Nero. Life is getting better!👏🏻❤️🤍

Dante DMC4 really gives impression of a soldier who, despite all his injuries, was able to survive and move on-he didn't dwell on his tragedy, as some in this fandom like to think, he is strong & he broke through to victory. He is alive and he protects those he cares about(N&L)🤍💜
