Edwyn noticed the boy tugging the woman’s hand but looked away from him, meeting the other’s gaze directly. “What do you mean by that?” she asked, a small frown tugging at her lips.

Bram couldn’t help but smile at the little boy, he was certainly a cutie. “He’d adorable and yeah, I understand that. Same here. I don’t know how to even begin to process this unless some weird, Harry Potter things are going down in this place.”

She looked down at her hands – fingers, joints, nails, and skin. She was human. Well, this was certainly an unexpected development. Once a wand, now a person. She raised one of those hands, signalling for the nearby person to stop. “Might you tell me where I am?”

“Did the same thing happen to you?” Bram asked the blonde, wondering just how many people really did end up in this town without their knowledge.

“I could imagine. However, yes. I think he should be here soon. This town is strange. It draws people here like magnets.”

“None of us know where anyone we love or care for are. Boyfriends, husbands, friends” Astrid was a little sharper in her words, taking a breath in as she settled herself, easing her shoulders in a clock backwards, shaking her head a little, neat and straight blonde locks straying from their poised position as eyes glinted straight at the other. “Your husband isn’t the only one in danger… No one knows what’s out there, or what it would take to try and get here” She held enough concern of her own, how Sam would even react to her going after the hell they’d endured, he’d done enough to save her before, and she knew he’d try to get to her now. “I guess that works also. There’s a little too much to pin blame on, so paint the city red with it” The girl had grudges aplenty that she wanted to lash out with, but time had taught her to hold her tongue and anger, to be bitter but careful with that venom.

“Ah, well I understand that but yeah. I’m sure your husband will be here soon as well. Everyone seems to be coming into this town.”

“I could imagine that would be horrible! He’d be all alone without you.” Mariana commented.

Zeus sat down across from the other,  “I believe that’s the question of this decade, people have been showing up here for as long as I can remember and no one seems to have an answer for it..  ”

“He’s cute.” Mariana told her with a soft smile.  

She had been trapped in a town where everyone over the age of 15 had ‘poofed’, an inescapable barrier surrounding them all on perimeters, where she had witnessed nine-year olds with machine guns, where she had seen mutations occur in both man and beast. She knew about ridiculousness, she had lived in it before. Body seizing up with a breath, she glanced intently at the other as they vented, she’d never been the best shoulder to cry on, but she could try. “You’ve got your kid, at least. There’s food and water here, order and safety. And there’s a likely chance that they’ll arrive also. Trust me, this is the life in comparison to ridiculous” She stated, trying to edge some kindness into her words. “I’m used to it” All just part and parcel of the job back in the FAYZ, complaints ranging from petty to meaningful. “Blame the universe. Blame science. Blame people. Blame whoever you could scream and rage at.”

“Good to know I have an ally.” Rebekah chuckled along. “Yeah. I just woke up here and… I have no idea how. But we’ll figure it out soon enough.”

“It’s not the town itself that causes mayhem. There’s someone else behind it and I intend to make them suffer for all they’ve done.” The blonde replied. “Pleasure. I’m Rebekah.”

“oh no !!” giving the other an intense expression with a sad sigh. penny understood that people ended up here. with or without memories. it was basically common knowledge. a girl could hear people talk. whether penny believed it, was undetermined. a pause to think for a moment, “can you book a plane ??”

“WHAT ISN’T possible ??” penny had been walking along, right near the bench where the female was sitting. eyes were glowing as she looked from the boy to the blonde. “what’s happened ??” worried expression soon danced across her features, “are you okay ??”

The sight of the child made a pang tear through her heart, she still remembered her own brother that she was forced to become a mother figure for, she was forced to become a parental figure for too many in the FAYZ. The irony wasn’t lost on her, how her and Sam became the mother and father near enough there. Only kids, foolish, reckless kids, but forced to mature fast. Glance skimming back and forth from her book to the other, she eventually made a move to murmur a comment as the other spoke. “This isn’t half so ridiculous as you may imagine” She commented, that bitter trace of angriness at the universe seeping through. “I used to think that God was responsible for things like this. Now I blame god knows what. Radiation likely”.
