Delusional goodday preppers have been buying beautiful candles from the shops for when the world is beautiful
i think elephants should arrange in a circle and point theire trunks at the center and start building energy
My resolution last year was to do one thing before bed that would make my morning feel easier, and thatβs become a daily habit that Iβm carrying into this new year.
Some nights even filling up the kettle and setting an empty mug out for my morning tea felt hard. But I was always thankful for it in the morning.
Other nights, one thing would lead to another, and Iβd wake up in a clean house with everything ready to go.
And, on a rare few nights, the one thing that I could do to make my morning easier was going straight to bed and allowing myself to rest.
What stayed the same each day is that I would take a moment to think of what I could do for my future self and do it, even after a hard day. And I would wake up knowing that I had done my best and any effortβno matter how smallβwas a kindness to myself.
Iβve been doing a lot of βa treat for future meβ moments lately.
Thatβs a great way to look at it, and I love this artist! (Anna-Laura: instagram / website)
Iβm so grateful to Tobias for his thoughtful composition, footage and patience β it took us a while to get the mood and pacing right. After admiring each otherβs creative work online for a long time, last year we started a conversation which unfurled into this collaboration. I hope it will be the first of many!
I shared a voice recording of a piece Iβd written about a cryptid, the six-winged butterfly and he wrote this guitar piece to accompany it. I was astonished. The idea to turn it into a film came laterβ¦ we sent each other clips, mine from the wooded Calder Valley in Northern England and his from the German coastline. Collaging these together speaks to ideas Iβm always coming back to: the whole reflected in the parts, distance and fragmentation, entanglement and interconnectedness, gathering.
It has been a moving process putting this together. Without that specific intention it has become something that feels so True and essential to me and Iβm really really pleased to share it. As it was written in spring, it felt important to release it into the world when the celandines were flowering again, not to let another year pass. I told Tobias I was challenging myself to get it finished before I saw any wood sorrel flowers, and Iβve managed, but thatβs not to say that I havenβt been avoiding a certain path in Nut Clough Woodsβ¦
βItβs one of my favourite ways of being: amongst the trees, making strange shapes, looking through the lens and adjusting my posture to compose a picture. Iβm curious. I sometimes describe it as an unselfconscious flow yet Iβd also say itβs when I feel most myself."
βI feel the loss to come and I feel the aliveness of the moment.β
Thank you also to friends who gave feedback and encouragement along the way and thank you to Jarod K. Anderson and the Cryptonaturalist podcast for the inspiration.

Same exact playbook, down to the "but it was based on a lie."
It's kind of amazing how much this is the identical strategy. Focusing on the distress and harm of parents over the trans or autistic person themselves. Pathologizing the condition treating it as an epidemic, including calling it a social contagion causing a worrying "explosion" of diagnosis because it is "trendy."
Ignoring the experts on the subject while also appealing to "common sense" and dismissing all research that contradicts them while also appealing to "basic science."
Plus it's all the same quacks and actors behind previous medical and social moral panics saying them same things in the same ways and no one seems to acknowledge that.
she says in the article that she was inspired to think this way about autism after she started reporting on detransitioners. Her Twitter mentions are filled with prominent voices in the detrans terf movement. This isn't just similar, It is quite self-consciously an extension of the same movement.

It's cooool when I feel love opening my chest and making my footsteps brave and light. I feel it today as I'm catching up with myself. Thank you!
