Ok, it's been 3 weeks including wind and rain, and it's held together so I feel safe to say that I found the secret -- plumber's tape! Tight, molds to shape, waterproof. It makes the frame look bandaged but fuck it. This spot is protected from all but the highest winds and they all get plenty of sun and moisture with the cover gone. The seed tray is full and sown and wet and so we start all over again. The dogs like to pee on it so deer aren't interested, the neem is working with the spiders (you can't see them but the webs cover the frame) to keep bugs off the plants. My two potato plants were attacked by lantana moths. 1 survived and 1 didn't, but the one that didn't yielded seed potatoes! All the other plants are thriving, except one basil whose leaves I accidentally neemed (the intention is to treat the cloth pots and soil, not the plant). But I have three other basil. Prepping to make my first turkey dinner.  Many have been the years I've made duck, or enchiladas, once duck enchiladas.  But Patrick got his hands on a turkey at Thanksgiving so we're having turkey tonight stuffed with apples, pears and shallots.  With mashed potatoes and turkey neck gravy (the giblets will go to the pups), and sage cornbread stuffing, and prosecco.  And since the weather is nice and we have a grill, we're having s'mores for dessert.   https://www.instagram.com/p/Cmm-qOlvEPp/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Massive Kona Low moving in as we speak and I'm wondering if giant tree snails (native species, 2-3 times the size of a golf ball) give signs of such weather. I'll see one by the house on a damp morning, maybe 2. Yesterday there were 6.
