i let everybody convince me to stay home today, including bailing on my brother who i haven;t seen since last new years, and this makes me a bit sad . i wish i was going out tonight .

i really do love new years . we usually go out, but are staying home this year . but i love the countdown, i love the universality of the experience, i love being in one of the last time zones to transition to the next year . i feel like it really puts things into perspective .

youtube is honestly probably the biggest attention sink . i actually like tumblr to a degree, because i like the people on here & i feel happy to be engaging with my interests . i do learn on here . but on youtube, i will waste hours watching pointless drag race videos or rehashes of reality tv shows that i don't care at all about . i hate sensationalism, but i get trapped within it . by prioritizing cutting down on it, i would reclaim a lot of time and attention .

today i was actually planning on paying $15 for a case of figs but their gay little self checkout scanner simply would not pick it up, so i stole it because i had no other option . such is life .

by and large i don't care about trends but i hate that thick eyebrows are back on trend because styled thick brows are so ugly . and i have to see them everywhere .

i've been really into papaya and starfruit lately . also acquired two custard apples and i'm very very excited for them to ripen up . i worked in produce for almost 2 years so it's very uncommon to find a fruit i haven't tried . maybe next i'll get really into persimmon . amen .

i can't believe i went the first 23 years of my life not knowing the cheese world outside of fake, disgusting american cheeses . i love you good quality cheese . i love you cheese history . i love you gf for convincing me to try good cheese . other reasons too
