Discover Balou Balaa, also known as, the Baatara Gorge Waterfall is considered one of the world’s most spectacular waterfalls. Uncovered in 1952 in the town of Tannourine El-Fawqa by French bio-speleologist Henri Coiffait (1907-1989), it drops at an altitude of 250 meters inside a cave that forms a popular destination for tourists and adventure lovers. The rafting activity in Assi River does not require experience; trainers are there to guide one through the activity.

On the way to the town of Rashana, tourists see about a dozen marble sculptures lining the road. Three Besbos brothers began sculpting and placing their pieces along the road as it approaches the studio. One brother has since died, but the two remaining ones keep the tradition alive. They invite students and sculptors to their summer classes to create diverse statues, which are left in the weed-infested garden outside the studio.

The following grave is named after King Hiram, a Phoenician king who reigned Tyre in the tench century BCE. He said to have lived to be 53 years of age, but reigned only 34 of them.

Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve, the largest of Lebanon’s nature reserves, stretches from Dahr Al-Baidar in the north to Niha Mountain in the south. The most famous reserve attractions are the cedar forests of Maasser Al-Shouf, Barouk and Ain Zhalta, Bmohary. The following are estimated to be 2,000 years old and account for a quarter of the remaining cedar forest in Lebanon. The Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve is a popular destination for hiking and trekking, with trails matching all levels of fitness. Furthermore, bird watching, mountain biking and snow shoeing are also popular.

Our Lady of Nourieh is a Marian shrine in Hamat, Lebanon. Nourieh is a derivative of the Arabic word, nour, meaning light. It is believed that two sailors built the shrine in the 4th century. One winter night, on a very stormy sea, the two sailors found themselves in danger.

The National Museum of Beirut has collections totaling about 100,000 objects, most of which are antiques and medieval finds from excavations undertaken by the Directorate General of Antiquities. About 1300 artifacts are exhibited, ranging in date from prehistoric times to the medieval Mamluk period.

Emir Bashir II of the Shihab dynasty, who later became the ruler of the Mount Lebanon Emirate, built the palace between 1788 and 1818. After 1840, the palace was used by the Ottomans as a government building. During the French Mandate it served as a local administrative office.

The occupation of the Christian holy places in Palestine and the destruction of the Holy Sepulcher by Caliph Al Hakim led to a series of eight campaigns, known as the Crusades, undertaken by Christians of western Europe to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims.

According to legend, purple dye was invented in Tyre. This great Phoenician city ruled the seas and founded prosperous colonies such as Cadiz and Carthage, but its historical role declined at the end of the Crusades. There are important archaeological remains, mainly from Roman times.

They created agricultural tools, knives, spoons, swords, daggers, and guns, among other tools.

Bsharri is the town of the only remaining and preserved original Cedars of God (Cedrus libani), and is the birthplace of the famous poet, painter and sculptor Khalil Gibran who now has a museum in the town to honour him.
