Happy parked the roll royce a block away from the place where Jericho had agreed to meet Stark. In the confrontations of the revolution, he had offered his help in many ways to those androids who desired to take it, tho not all of them had welcomed his aid with open arms. Some thought Stark Industries was one if not the first companies to sell the idea of androids as slaves. Anthony in any case and of course Jarvis, knew that they had always been friends beyond the difference of the components of their bodies, but Anthony didn’t hold any grudge against those A.I’s who weren’t accepting of him, respecting more the wishes of the fabricated life than his humans counterparts.
He put on his sunglasses and made his way to the accorded spot without a warning from Happy to don’t do anything stupid as he was going in there alone. Stark dismissed his concern with a wave of his hand as he walked around the corner and towards what looked like an old building.
“I hope I didn’t arrive too early.” He spoke out loud so whoever was going to welcome him could listen, looking down at his digital watch that marked exactly 14:00 o clock’ “I’m just like a child on christmas, couldn’t wait any longer.” A wide grin spread on his face, both hands dipping into the pockets of expensive slacks.
It wasn’t that he didn’t trust Markus, he did....Wholeheartedly. But there was always a certain reluctance when it came to dealing with humans, specially powerful ones. in theory, Simon knew that talking with Anthony Stark was the best move, he knew that it was a smart idea, he knew it was a good next step, that they needed some allies, he knew all of this and yet....
A shaky breath left his lips as he fixed his jacket in the mirror, looking at the time on the corner, the green glowing numbers like a threat hanging over his head. What if this meeting went wrong? What if instead of an ally they gained an enemy? What if Cyberlife took offence to this? What if....? Too many variables. Stress level 68%.
He needed to calm down. For Jericho’s sake, for Markus’ sake. If anything went wrong, they could handle it. They had done so pretty good so far. A deep breath and Simon’s worry was replaced with a small smile. Not quite confident but not scared any more. He looked at the time again. It was almost two. Stress level 45%.
He made his way towards the entrance, fixing his hair as his eyes travelled to the door, the sound of a car parking reaching enhanced ears, making Simon stand a straighter, trying to appear taller but still relaxed. Feeling a little too much like the android he was when he received guests at his old owner’s home, he rolled his shoulders and placed his hands in front of himself, appearing less tense, more like himself.
“You are right on time, Mr. Stark.” His voice sounded natural, his nerves now showing as he smiled at the other man, extending one of his hands. “Welcome to Jericho’s headquarters.”
