Playing da2 while your warden was an Amell really puts some of the story in a completely different perspective. A family absolutely being broken apart and ripped of everything they had at the beginning, and the game constantly reminds you that Hey! Remember the Hero of Ferelden? That's their cousin. If you want, you can dwell on the fact that your beloved Warden Amell being born completely fucked everyone over. Their birth set off a chain reaction of it all falling apart and they weren't even there to see it, being sent to the Circle at such a young age. And then more children came from their parents, and they continued the line of magic, and it drove their mother to the grave. The people that were left of that once noble family became gamblers and drinkers, the estate was sold off and the word Amell has almost become a way of referring to fucked over families in Kirkwall. All their honour is gone. And it's all because your Amell was born a mage. We will mention this in a few lines of dialogue but otherwise it doesn’t have any real impact on the story, it's just there to haunt you.
