He'd have been lying if he said he wasn't somehow more concerned by the development in conversation. The more invested in his life his father suddenly became, the more convinced he was that something god awful was about to happen. He cringed slightly at his fathers attempts in sounding something resembling hip, however the feeling was quickly replaced by one of slight anger. Truth be told, he felt somewhat guilty for not spending more time with his father; in spite of everything, there was a constant part of him that would always feel responsible for the incident that lead to the downfall of their relationship. He tried not to go too hard on himself for the most part. After all, there was in fact very little that his young self could have done other than begging his father to love him, and that had never worked anyway.

He was somewhat glad that his father was starting to show this level of interest - though it was far too late, it was exactly what he'd always wanted.
