Yes indeed! Did you know that when the doctor cuts the cord, there’s no effect at all on the kind of button that’s made? It’s all based on what happens after! how well it heals in infancy! since the baby still has some serious power to generate new tissue, the button just keeps growing where the button isn’t all healed. with each layer of scabs that form, a bigger outie forms! so in theory if a kiddo accidentally cut their unfinished button a bunch, they’d get an amazing big outie!!

So here’s the deal.

How common or rare do you think each type of belly button is? Like do you think it's right to say 90% of people have innies and the other 10% are outies? And what percent of people do you think have both?
Well, it is true that innies are much more common than outies, I can’t guarantee that the ratio is exactly 9:1, but I imagine it’d be somewhere in that vicinity.

Yeah, it stayed out for pretty much ever, though it has been dipping more and more inwards in recent times.
