I dont got any specific ideas about how it would go but its on my mind

now imagine them kissing in the front seat i tried to draw it a million times and gave up but OMG THANK U FOR THIS ASK I ABSOLUTELY LOVED DRAWING FOR IT!!! i imagine the time period would be the 70s. gyro’s an unapologetic deadhead and loves the 5th dimension as well. he’s like if the manic pixie dreamgirl trope was about a hairy, heavy, chainsmoking asshole of a guy. and johnny’s just happy to be there, even though he’s too annoying to let it show. they have a route similar to the sbr race. idk why theyre trucking. or what their purpose is. they’ve probably cried together in the front seat like 20 times though. if you need a road trip au fix im gonna do it im gonna plug it again but ‘the right sun’ by holyrobo will knock your pants off.

i think johnnys is INSANELY high. like astronomical. in a very bad way…he grew up with and around liquor, HARD liquor, bourbon and moonshine and all the fancy stuff his dad managed to snag since he had the money for it and then some. johnny would drink it a good bit starting at a young age. in the south, when you get offered a drink, or even a sip, it can be bad manners to say no, namely in your teens (in my experience here at least LOL) and i definitely think johnnys dad encouraged him to take drinks from other big names at fancy parties he had to attend in his pre and early teen years. After Nicholas’ death, Johnny sought out the stuff more and more on his own, would regularly get trashed at raunchier parties he went to, accept any and every drink offered to him by anyone and swig it down in record time. at home, on particularly hard nights, he’d sit in his room with a stashed away bottle, and just cry and cry and cry until the burn of the alcohol only made him feel numb, letting sleep take him on his tear stained pillow. after his family and so called friends all but disowned him after the shooting, after he fell harder from grace than an angel with its wings clipped, he only drunk it more.

gyro on the other hand, has an absolute SHIT tolerance. he’s the type that will get drunk after a drink or two, especially if it’s the harder stuff johnny tends to gravitate towards. he hates the taste of a lot of it, being more of a sweeter wine man than the harsh and bitter alcohol that reminds him of nothing but antiseptic and the sterile smell of home. gyro only grew up drinking wine at dinner, sipping on a small bit in his glass with a cup of water beside him to chase it when he no longer wanted the taste on his tongue. half the time, he opted more for the water and quickly swallowed the wine to not make his father remind him of his “wastefulness” yet again. any parties or gatherings gyro attended were strictly with his father in his early years, a worry full glance towards him when offered a glass by a waiter, most of the time still not wanting to finish this glass and dumping it into a plant when he was sure the elder was looking away. as he got older, sometimes he would indulge, not for the taste, but simply for the feeling of being able to get away, escape for a bit and feel like he’s floating up and out of his fathers steel clad grasp. he always hated how he felt the morning after. even when he was able to attend the events on his own, gyro would still be weary of accepting the glass, somehow still feeling his fathers disapproving gaze on the back of his head, even if he’s miles away.
