“Bad Bitches Give A Fuck About Native Wetlands” is the second publication in my Compost This Zine series. This zine was inspired by coming out of the dead of winter and missing going up to my grandparents cottage in the swamps of the Simcoe County area during the summer. In the 8 pages of this zine, i’ve used some personal archives, digital tools, a lot of glue, and photos of actual Ontario wetlands to put together summaries of 5 different types of freshwater wetlands you can find in eastern Canada. “Welcome To The Apocalypse, Where You Still Have To Pay Rent” is the very first zine in my Compost This Zine series, where i explore assorted topics related to art, the planet, mental health, and folk punk living through single sheet 8 page zines. This one specifically is a relatively simple styled inspirational piece was inspired to do because i saw some cool graffiti on instagram and remembered making zines in middle school for a history project. in this zine, i’ve written some sparks of ideas on ways to feel less alone in the capitalist hellscape we call home, accompanied by some simple but cute and colourful sharpie and pen doodles. contact me at [email protected] for trades/distro, or purchase the digital download HERE to print and fold yourself! ‘Red Planet Earth’ is a Native American science fiction fanzine from 1974. Created by Cherokee writer Craig Kee Strete, it’s regarded as the first science fiction zine by North American Indigenous writers. Red Planet Earth ran for six issues and included a mix of short stories, poetry, articles and more. Describing itself as “a magazine of American Indian science fiction”, it featured contributions from Strete, as well as other Native American writers.
