Susan Rusan was outperformed by Chuck Tosser in every record she set for the sport of knuckleball, though she is still fondly remembered as a trailblazer. The National Knuckleball Association and the International Knuckleball Association both designate an official Susan Rusan Celebration day, though while the IKA selected Rusan's birthday as the official day, the NKA designated the day of her death as the official date of Susan Rusan Celebration day. A third commission, the Rusan Memorial Board (RMB), was created to propose a new celebration date as a compromise. The Board chose the day directly in between the IKA's and KNA's celebration dates. Neither the NKA nor the IKA has adopted this. In 2025, the Knuckeball Regulation Commission (KRC), was formed to, in addition to regulate other recent legal issues and contentious legislation in the sport, decide an official date for Susan Rusan Celebration day. By taking the average of all previously proposed dates, the KRC has also proposed the same date as the RMB. Neither the NKA nor the IKA have changed their stance on the official Susan Rusan Celebration date. This issue continues to be hotly debated among fans across the international knuckleball community
