The 11th studio album by The Beach Boys was released on 16 May 1966.

Conceived, written, and produced by Brian Wilson while the rest of the band was on tour, most of the music was played by “The Wrecking Crew,” which included Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell, Carol Kaye, and Barney Kessel, the album was met with hostility by most of the other Beach Boys (especially Mike Love) when Wilson played it for them.
