At the end of the day, yeah, one of the biggest things that drag this Finale down is its need to make Crowley the Perfectest Nobly Suffering Martyr, but it’s hard for me to hold anything there against Crowley as a character because this shit is so OOC, I can only imagine that if Crowley was able to watch this, he’d absolutely hate it. He’d hate watching a Comedy turn to ‘one of the Gloomy Ones’ obviously, he’d hate the glorification of suicidal self-sacrifice, he’d hate seeing himself being treated as so pure and selfless with no shades of gray and he’d especially hate how this Finale treated Aziraphale.

Out of all the heated rivalry analysis I’ve seen I’ve never seen someone mention that after the all star game Shane no longer drafts and deletes texts. He says what he intends to say the first time and stops editing and second guessing himself and it’s one of my favorite details showing that their dynamic has changed and no one talks about it

I'll never understand when critics haters of Heated Rivalry call it "heteronormative pandering slop". A story about two buff jocks who both, for the most part, conform to masculine standards falling in love with each other because they are equals in strength and skill at the most manly sport out there is not heterosexual coded. The main point of Heated Rivalry is overcoming the social pressures of acting manly and dealing with internalized homophobia from years of trying to make yourself fit into a very specific box. Shane almost exclusively liking to bottom doesn't make him "the girl" in the relationship, he could absolutely body Ilya any time, he just doesn't want to because he has specific sexual desires that he had to come to terms with over almost 10 years. It's giving biphobia and misogyny from considering bottoms "weak girls". You guys are perpetuating homophobia! Just admit you don't understand the story and move on.

snowglobes confirmed meaningless to the plot and not intended as a sign that there’s multiple universes/Aziraphale and Crowley are still alive/whatever copium that finale defenders were treating as irrefutable canon. they were just there because Rob Wilkins wanted to sell some stupid overpriced snowglobes. oh i have to laugh.
