While I do want there to be better Indigenous rep out there, this is very taxing on me, esp since I've been doing this for free. I run indigenousfantasy by myself and didn't think it would get as popular as it did so quickly. And it's had hundreds of asks at points which I simply cannot handle. And I tend to feel I'm obligated to be polite to white writers who send in asks which is also a bit tiring. I still have my own stories to work on that I don't want to push aside.

I'll still reblog relevant posts or might make my own from time to time, but as for these asks I won't answer them anymore. If you truly do need help with writing then it might be best to seek out an Indigenous beta reader.

Do you want to read a spoken word poetry anthology book I wrote as an Asian native Pasifika artist who’s a songwriter and spoken word poet? Its called Heart of Fire Dragon Soul of Flame Phoenix and Sea Fairy Ocean Blood.

It’s about being a disabled native (autistic, neurodivergent, chronically ill, & mentally ill disabled), a displaced disconnected state side diaspora, being an Asian Native (as a Vietnamese Kinh, French, Chinese Hoa, & Polynesian Tahitian Indigenous Pasifika person of color), & about being a QTIPOC (queer and trans third gender Indigenous person of color).

Im also a writer and creator who writes bipoc, disabled, and qtipoc futurism. I write magical high fantasy and science fiction books, comics, and graphic novels.

My bipoc, disabled, and qtipoc futurism anthology project called Chronicles of War. I have been working on it for a long time. Since freshman year of high school. It is a soft and hard science fiction and magical high fantasy hybrid comic book or graphic novel series.

It is soft and hard Sci fi (bio punk, solar punk, ray punk, nano punk, & cyberpunk) in the near and far future. It is also a magical high fantasy (steampunk, Tesla punk, arcane punk, and dungeon punk) in modern fantasy.

It is a hybrid fusion that is bipoc qtipoc and disabled futurism with bipoc qtipoc and disabled main and supporting characters. It is precontact and post land back.

It’s a futurism anthology or collection of sci fi fantasy stories. That is about several disabled, bipoc (or Black Indigenous and or person of color) characters, and qtipoc (or queer and trans indigenous people of color) main characters.

One is mahu third gender Kana’i Akana/Ataahua Akana an Afro Asian pasifika/Afro Latine Native. He/she/they are a demigod metahuman and alien hybrid superhuman superhero. He/she/they are in a science fiction bio punk, solar punk, ray punk, nano punk, & cyberpunk world in the near and far future.

The other is Kittsak/Kaeo Alin Pramoj an Afro Asian native third gender coded magical human with fae elvish, hobgoblin goblinoid, & giant kin ancestry. He/she/they are a multi class spellcaster, swordfighter, and gunslinger hero and adventurer. He/she/they live in a magical high fantasy steampunk, Tesla punk, arcane punk, and dungeon punk modern fantasy world. Both of them are qtipoc disabled and bipoc.

Do I ever!

Never Whistle At Night is a collection of short stories that will chill you to the bone. A wonderful collection that includes several Indigenous women authors.

Empire of Wild by Cherie Dimaline was definitely a fun choice to bring on a camping trip last year. The ending had me feeling all kinds of conflicting emotions.

And Then She Fell by Alicia Elliott is a WILD ride. More Thriller than Horror and I feel that Native readers and Non-Native/White readers will have very different experiences reading it. I don't want to give too much away because figuring out what's going on as you're reading it is definitely part of the appeal.

Mexican Gothic is exactly what it sounds like. A scary remote village in Mexico? A big scary mansion run by a rich colonizer family? A badass Meso-Indigenous main character trying to figure out a mystery? It's all here. The build up is slow but as soon as shit starts getting WEIRD it's nothing but thrills and fun.

Anoka by Shane Hawk is another collection of short stories. It's a short read but each story is as fun and creepy as the next. Read at night <3

White Horse by Erika T. Wurth is for all the urban NDNs out there. The main character is a certified badass. I love the NDN/Punk rock feel of it combined with the horror of the supernatural.

Today is Nakba commemoration day. Today 74 years ago, British and (now) Israeli troops invaded Palestine and massacred the residents of over 530 villages and towns and drove them out. On this day, please make the effort to inform yourself on the nature of this occupation, and settler-colonization.

Here is a 5 episode documentary describing the process of colonization from as early as 1799 to the actual Nakba in 1948 and its immediate aftermath (be sure to click on the read more to see the episodes). A number of Israeli, British, and Arab historians explain the formulation and development of the project to colonize Palestine by Western powers, and Palestinian refugees recount their experiences living under this. Fair trigger warning, there is extreme violence described as well as footage of bombings and concentration camps.

The Nakba isn't over, it never ended. It just takes a different shape and form now, and Israeli and Western propaganda has allowed it to take an inexcusable form with complete international impunity. Speak out, tell your friends and family, share with those you know care, convince those on the fence about it. Don't let Western misinformation continue to propagate in your circles. Learn the truth and decolonize your mindset.
