Amethyst backstory episode (where Rose is very motherly.), An episode about Rose deciding to have Steven, an episode regarding Rhodonite's backstory, an episode with Morganite (who even had a canon design!), Mystery Girl's return, why the Zircon's were "in trouble.", Spinel and the diamonds still having "problems to settle out.", what happens when a gem is left in the dark too long, Lapis lore, backstory, and details about her powers, an episode about Lars discovering his lion powers.

Wow I finally was able to make this.

I originally was gonna make an animation based off this but things happened and it couldn’t be done.

I’m really excited for when the Prime Kindergarten is introduced to Steven in the AU. Ofc its gonna be different then cannon but that just makes it all the better. I’m trying my best to reimagine this differently then cannon but I’m struggling.

But anyway, now that I’ve made this, I can finally share my “On The Run” Theory.

Peridot is still an Era Two gem made on Homeworld. She is also still a technician and gem kindergartener. The only difference between her story in the AU rather then cannon is that Peridot is sent to Earth to check on the cluster hundreds of years earilar, only a few weeks after she is made.

By this time, Rose has only Bismuth and Lapis with her, and Rose is secretly hoping that somehow there were other gems who survived the Diamond blast. It doesn’t matter if they were on the enemy side, she would try to befriend them.

Peridot begins her mission by heading to the prime Kindergarten. Bismuth and Lapis discover her there and immediately freak out.

Bismuth and Lapis overhear Peridot’s reporting on the Cluster. They decide before attacking, they should get as much infromation as they can first. It isn’t long before they learn that the Cluster will destroy the planet in time.

Panicked, they surprise attack Peridot and poof her on the spot. Deciding that now it should be up to Rose to decide what to do with the prisoner and new information.

Lapis and Bismuth bring Peridot’s gem (which is in a bubble that isn’t sent off) and Peridot’s limb enhancers to Rose and inform her on the situation. Rose decides that in order to stop this cluster, they’re going to need Peridot’s help, and if they keep her imprisoned on Earth, there’s no chance she can report that the Crystal Gems still exist back to Homeworld.

Rose, Lapis and Bismuth destory almost all of Peridot’s Limb Enhancements since they view them as weapons Peridot could use against them. Rose only keeps the two feet, deciding to hide them somewhere where she thinks Peridot would never think to look. (Peridot later discovers them while on a trip with the B-Team and Steven in the Strawberry Battlefield.)

The next step is to free Peridot from her bubble. Rose, Bismuth, and Lapis all gather in Bismuth’s room inside the temple. Rose is ready to try and calmly interrogate Peridot, while Bismuth and Lapis have defensive positions to make sure Peridot doesnt try anything.

Rose unbubbles Peridot and she quickly reforms. Peridot is extremely frightened at first and Rose is surprised at how small Peridot is, as she only has known the Era One Peridot’s back when she was a Diamond. She beileves she is off-colored, but is also confused on why Homeworld would not only allow her to live, but work for the Diamond Authority as well.

Meanwhile, Peridot has never seen a “Rose Quartz” before, let alone even knew they existed. She is terrified, she feels helpless without her limb enhancers. She doesn’t know where she is. Fighting or running has no chance of suceeding.

Rose explains the situation to Peridot.

That 1. She is captured.

2. She is going to be interrogated.

3. She is going to help the Crystal Gems stop the ‘Cluster’

4. She’s never going to be able to go back to Homeworld.

Peridot initially refuses to talk. As time goes on and Peridot keeps refusing to talk, Bismuth and Lapis start getting impatient and start to threaten violence to get Peridot to talk. Rose forces them to not hurt Peridot. Instead, Rose tries to manipulate Peridot emotionally to get her to talk, after a while, this eventually works. Peridot reluctantly agrees to help the Crystal Gems stop the cluster.

Now, I don’t know how exactly how the cluster will be stopped yet. But during the time Peridot spends with Rose, Lapis and Bismuth while working together to stop the cluster, she begins to bond with them, and she eventually completely defects to their side.

Now that thats all out of the way. Due to Peridot’s past of being a Kindergartener, where it was literally her job to destroy life, to wipe out living beings. And now that it’s her sworn duty to protect life, She has a deep guilt and hate of herself for ever being a Kindergarter. She also is very insecure about being an Era Two gem. She feels as if she’s surrounded by gems with unlimited power and there she is, struggling too even lift a car off the ground. Lapis’ teasing doesn’t help either.

So, one day Steven gets curious about how gems are made. Peridot, with her self-coping ego, decides to take him to the Prime Kindergarten. She tries to explain how the whole process works, and tells Steven that she used to make gems a very long time ago. Steven’s like “So you’re a mom?!” But before Peridot can respond, she finds a Hole that confuses her. A hole she’s never seen before. Amethyst’s hole. She goes to inspect it, but before she can say anything, Lapis shows up. Of course, Lapis, who is now highly agiasnt the idea of Kindergartening, is furious at Peridot for taking Steven to the Kindergarten. And since this only triggers Peridot’s negative feelings about herself that she’s secretly bottled up for so long, she begins to lash out at Lapis. This soon breaks out into a full-blown physical fight between Lapis and Peridot. But Lapis is at a disadvantage since there is no water nearby. While Lapis and Peridot are fighting, Peridot yells self-deprecating things about herself, and with the help of scrap metal around, she manages to stun and pin Lapis. And Peridot says one last thing about herself that finally makes Lapis stop struggling and worry about her. This is where Steven finally breaks in and pleds with Peridot to stop. In response, Peridot runs away.

Steven then frees Lapis and they decide to look for Peridot. This is where Lapis gives an important talk to Peridot, trying to explain that it’s not her fault that Homeworld had forced her to be a Kindergartener, and it wasn’t her fault that she’s an Era Two Peridot. And even though she’s an Era Two Peridot, she still has discovered she has powers after all, and that alone is astounding. Lapis apologies and the two make up.

And HOLY SHIT that took fucking forever to write. I would add the “Keep Reading” Function, but like, I dont think moblie tumblr allows you to do that. But anyway, hopefully you enjoy the art and the theory!
