1. If Iâm not mistaken, Maria ought to have an MD if sheâs qualified to assist in surgery, though all the artbook says is she completed a the National Standard Paramedic Curriculum.
2. If Iâm not mistaken the artbook says heâs in his 20s, but he should be 33. (The book says he entered med school at fucking 12. But it also says he was 16 when the Cumberland College incident occurred.) Never mind how completely unrealistic it is for him to start med school at 12.
Btw hereâs a profile for Sara... because I rarely make OCs but Iâve put so much thought into her and I love her a lot.

Name: Sara Kimishima
   - Sara is pronounced with the first A being like âsaw,â not like âSarahâ
   - When married, Maria took Naomiâs last name, so Sara shares that with both of them (but not her big sister, who kept Breslin); Maria has no fond thoughts about her parents and thus had no desire to hyphen or anything
   - âSaraâ can be both a Spanish name or a Japanese name, which was intentional on the part of her mothers
   - Technically, she does have name kanji, mainly for addition to the family registry: ĺŁćŞĺłś (Kimishima) ĺš¸ćĽ (Sara)
   - When choosing her name kanji, Naomi felt the name was even more perfect because she was able to make the first one kind of in honor of her (Naomiâs) deceased older sister, Sachiko (嚸ĺ)
   - She has no middle name, because they didnât have anything as perfect as her first name
Age: 6
Family: Naomi (mother), Maria (mother), Alyssa (big sister); has grandparents on Naomiâs side but unfortunately the family is alienated from them so sheâs never met them.
Personality: Sara is fairly tomboyish, but also really likes cute things (perhaps influenced by her big sister in that regard). Sheâs kind and fairly outgoing, but she can also be quite stubborn for a 6 year old. (Considering her parents, is it any surprise?) She tends to be very curious, and is the type who will touch the stove once despite being warned not to, just because she wasnât told why not to and wants to find out. She really likes to be physically active as much as possible and has trouble sitting still for long periods of time. She tends to be quite resilient in the face of scary things and is usually optimistic even when things get tough.
Education: Currently in kindergarten; attended preschool
Likes: Her family (including Chloe), cute things, the Resurgam doctors and Little Guy, candy and junk snack food (much to Naomiâs chagrin), playing outside, puzzles (but rarely has the patience to do them)
Dislikes: Being told âno,â most vegetables (her mothers hope/assume sheâll grow out of that)
Fears: Sheâs mostly over her fear of the dark but still feels better with a nightlight, bugs, being hospitalized (though not hospitals themselves or regular doctorâs appointments, as sheâs grown up with the Resurgam doctors a big part of her life, but when she has been hospitalized in the past it has still been scary)
Health: Inherited Mariaâs allergy to shellfish (confirmed via allergy testing). She has asthma and was born deaf, both of which are attributed to her being born at only 23 weeks.
Languages: Her family learned to sign just for her. She went to a signing preschool and now attends a signing elementary school, so sometimes she actually knows more than them. Theyâve been trying to help her learn to lip read because they think it will make things easier for her. Her voice works but sheâs never shown any interest in learning to speak.
Hospitalizations: Was hospitalized for months at birth. Has had to go to the hospital for asthma attacks a few times. Broke her leg a few months ago (see more below), though all that required was a cast.
Other (got long oops):
   - She just about idolizes her big sister (currently 15).
   - Technically, she has dual citizenship between America and Japan until age 18, being on Naomiâs family registry. (Naomi started her own upon marrying Maria. Naomi feels ambivalent about her citizenship and is thus remaining a Japanese citizen, but she has a green card acquired through Delphi. By the way, Alyssa has no Japanese citizenship due to being adopted.)
   - She used to go to daycare when both mothers were busy (though they tried to spend time with her as much as possible -- resulting in her occasionally hearing things young children probably shouldnât at Naomiâs job). In the past year theyâve been leaving her home with Alyssa when need be. Resurgam has a daycare but none of the staff could sign, so that was only a last resort; it felt cruel to send her somewhere where she couldnât understand anything or communicate her needs.
   - A few months ago she figured out how to climb trees -- something that concerned Naomi, though Maria shrugged it off with an âI used to do it all the time.â Unfortunately, one day she got on a branch that wasnât quite strong enough and fell. It was nothing too serious but she got a broken arm. Ever since then, she hasnât tried climbing anymore trees. She misses the feeling of being high up, but sheâs scared of falling again.
   - She calls Naomi âMamaâ and Maria âMama Mariaâ because Alyssa does. (Alyssa started calling Naomi âMamaâ a while after being adopted; she didnât want to call her Mom since she already had a mother, whose death she still blames herself for, but she also wanted to acknowledge her feelings of Naomi being a mother to her as well. For that reason, Naomi is Mama and Maria is Mama Maria to her.)
   - Naomi was worried after her genetic disease that, even though it was completely eradicated, she may not be able to safely carry a child. So Maria did it, although she wasnât very happy when Esha finally just about forced her to take maternity leave (because thereâs only so much running around thatâs safe to do when youâre pregnant).
   - Considering that Maria was running around too far into her pregnancy and tends to be under a lot of stress, Sara was born prematurely. She needed respiratory assistance and they werenât sure she would pull through, and Maria blamed herself the entire time. She was born at 23 weeks and couldnât eat or cry. She spent the first months of her life in an infant ICU connected to a respirator and IV.
  - Sara and Alyssa generally get along quite well. There are some times even Alyssa gets frustrated with a âbabyâ always following her around and copying her, but she never can get too upset because nearly losing her as a baby is still all too memorable.
   - They considered cochlear implants because they thought it would make things easier for her, but after doing some research decided against it.
   - She currently wants to be a forensic analyst like Naomi.
   - They thought about adopting, because Maria knows more than anyone how many kids need loving homes, and how it feels when no one adopts (wants) you. At the same time, although she feels selfish for it, Maria in particular really wanted a biological child, given the state of her biological family (or rather, effective lack of).
   - Alyssa didnât take the news that she was going to be a sister well at first. Wasnât she good enough? Were they going to love the baby more since it was actually biologically theirs? Luckily, they were able to reassure her before Sara was born and she soon became super excited about being a big sister.
Throwback to this... um... thing I made like 6 years ago. (In my defense I was like 15 and drawing with a laptop mousepad.) Itâs a trace of a CG from Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi, so I took it down from dA and canât take much credit (not that I really want to at this point anyway lmao).
In case you canât tell, itâs Angie/Linda Reid. Itâs a confession scene (Angie is saying, âSu-suki!â/âI-I love you!â which Iâm pretty sure is exactly what Reo said).
Incidentally, in addition to the Esha blog, Iâve always wanted to make a âKimishima familyâ blog. It would feature Naomi and Maria as a married couple, Alyssa, and their science!baby Sara (pronounced âSawraâ).
Maybe I should write some fics about Kimishima family. I always hesitate with that because I donât know if people would read them; Maria/Naomi is a rarepair to begin with and I know most peope arenât terribly fond of OCs.

In related news, this blog is alive again as Iâm back on a TT kick. Iâd also be happy to revive my Naomi and/or Claire. (And Iâve been itching to make an Esha, but since Iâm not sure if the TC RP fandom is breathing at all other than me, Iâm holding back.)
Iâm also presently working on a really feels-y fic about Maria and Esha (because I have all the family feels about those two) but it might be a few days before itâs finished because my jet lag is seriously killing me. :â) Also because Iâm finally back to work on the art book and developer blog translations; having finished third year now does definitely make it easier so Iâm also updating the ones Iâd already done.

Based on when she compares him to herself as a child and that chronologically this is right before Mournful Hero iirc, I think after Esha dragged her off (and presumably scolded her), Maria realized sheâd gone too far. We see that she has no problem with violence, but I think thereâs a clear difference in her mind between punching a guy who can clearly stand up for himself and provoked her anger versus threatening someone who isnât really defending himself. (This is supported by the artbook, which says that despite doing some less than moral things growing up, in the orphanage she stood up for kids like Rosalia who got bullied.)
Most likely, Esha reminded her that CR has no memory; maybe he did it and maybe he didnât, but if he canât remember anything is he still the same person? And she would remind her of the lives CR had saved at Resurgam. Also, that he had been convicted on purely circumstantial evidence -- that was, being the only survivor. I feel like as Chief, she was aware of his conviction and was asked for permission before his first surgery, so she would have been aware.
So Mariaâs trust is born out of a combination of seeing similarities between him and herself, and realizing that Esha trusts him (and she obviously trusts Esha).
I feel like Iâve heard somewhere that it and a pen can be used in a pinch, though I canât imagine where I would have possibly heard that so take it with a grain of salt. She seems to carry some of her supplies with her*, so I just assume she also carries around a boxcutter and pen for just in case such a situation should arise. (A boxcutter is probably easier to carry safely than an actual scalpel.)
*Based on Desperate Rescue, as she hadnât come by ambulance but still had the basic tools with her. She didnât have, say, splints, but she still had gauze, stabilizer, antibiotic gel, etc. -- things that could fit in her jacket pockets. Granted, Tomoe was able to use her endoscope and she probably does NOT carry that with her, but weâve also seen that Tomoe can teleport.

Hey all! I suggested this a few months ago and there was some interest, so @namimorino and I went ahead and made a Trauma Center/Team Kink Meme!
In case youâre unfamiliar with kink memes, itâs a place to request fics and art, and fill the requests of others. It definitely doesnât have to be nsfw or kinky, though; any genre is welcome!

âYeah! I mean, seriously, who does that?! Donât they know some of us have places to be?!â
Maria paused. âWait, howâd you know about that?â
Maybe someone could do it in a dare? Paying 20 for someone to eat a small tube of antibiotic gel was a fair trade. The FDA had approved it and she never saw anything beyond try not to ingest as it could cause stomach irritation. The worst she could think of was someone getting sick because of it and having a lingering aftertaste of the gel, which was not worth it even by itself.
The little bit of fidgeting wasnât lost on her. She raised one silver brow and took hold of her cup, letting it warm her hands. âAh⌠I can see mentioning her grave discomforts you. Iâm sorry. You probably spend enough time there.â Whoa, okay, that was completely wrong. Her appetite waned and she pushed her lunch away, taking a draught of the sweet coffee. The coronerâs eyes moved instead to look behind the counter, looking at the tool of the trade and utensils. Her eyes didnât meet hers even as she replied.
âThere comes a time where people need to decide between a scolding orâŚâ Saving lives. Like she had tried to do once upon a time. âSaving lives.â
Maria found herself feeling awkward. She didnât really want to lie to Naomi, but she could hardly tell her she hadnât been able to bring herself to visit Rosaliaâs grave even once yet. Especially not after Naomi had guessed the exact opposite. Yeah, better just not to correct her...
She nodded. âAs a paramedic, that's ALWAYS what you should be thinking about! Besides, theyâll get scolded a hell of a lot more if they act like idiots and let something bad happen.â Potentially âscoldedâ by her fist, depending on how bad a situation they ended up causing. She turned to look in the direction of Naomiâs gaze, but saw nothing. Instead, she looked back at Naomi, expression questioning.
