I Can Show You Incredible Things

WHEN ARE MEN GOING TO LEARN TO PROPERLY APOLOGIZE AND OWN UP

So aside from economics, we’ve seen a rise in ticket prices in recent years to combat ticket bots and the resale of tickets from scalpers, taking money out of the pockets of artists.  Ticketmaster fan verified was supposed to be a better way, literally they said they were doing it to get more tickets in the hands of FANS initially, which would combat having artists charge outrageous prices so they wouldn’t be going to resale.

So here I was thinking, WOW, Taylor Swift really did something here. She’s putting tickets back in the hands of her fans by giving them options to boost themselves in line. Affordable tickets, better seats, all for the FANS because this is supposed to be their era. No media because she only wants to be around her fans. Wow, Taylor Swift really did that. And it felt incredible. Until the UK prices today. What are these insane VIP packages? Are we seriously expected to shell out upwards of half a grand to sit in the lower bowl of the stadium? More to be near her? what?

Here’s why I thought this: I’ve spent over 30 hours working on my boosts. I’ve narrowed my time down a LOT in the last few weeks by using lots of devices. But, I’m still 1% away from priority with 3500 boosts. That’s INSANE. At US minimum wage, thats $217. My time at work costs over 4x that. Most of the fandom probably doesn’t make that much money.  Most fans are still kids or like me are recent grads and are paying down tons of student loans and all kinds of BS debt, so we have a lot of things we have to allocate our incomes towards. So you would THINK with the amount of work I’ve been doing and the value of my time, I would get to reap a decently priced ticket from spending that extra time. Time is money, after all. 

Taylor Nation keeps telling us that we need to complete boosts to get the best seat options? But like? We’re supposed to spend this much time doing something only to have to pay $700 to actually have the best seat options? I feel extremely betrayed. In an era about fans, this feels like we’ve been taken advantage of and it’s crushing all of us.
