“Darling will you calm down,” Despite her admonishment River couldn’t help but grin herself. The Doctor’s excitement was catching but they’d never get past first checks with the Doctor practically shaking.
“I’m sure they have lots of different drinks and food for you to try,”
“no. shan’t. how am i supposed t’ calm down when the game is afoot?”
her arm slinks around river’s, she begins leading the two of them towards the rather intimidating looking mansion - already filled with black ties and faces that are itching to find out the latest gossip. usually such sly tactics are beneath her ( or it’s more that they fly over her head ), but she can make an exception just this once.
“not sure what the game is, but ‘m sure there is one. not quite sure what afoot means, either.”
