Hey guys it’s Midnight Sun release day, and because a bunch of people will be putting money into the pockets of a VERY problematic author who has promoted racism, sexism, and pedophilia among other things in her books and movies, it would be amazing to put some money into the pockets of the group hit the hardest by her problematic rhetoric - The Quileute tribe. She twisted their legends, used them as a prop, gave them no profits and got no permission from them to use their likeness and their sacred stories. She stripped the tribal members of their humanity and attacked the characters from this tribe viciously with racist stereotypes. The first link posted here is the Quileute Move To Higher Ground project, a website where you can donate to help the tribe build a school higher up away from the water danger zone, where they can preserve their culture. The second link will take you to a website which you can click around and read about some of the major ways in which Stephanie Meyer has twisted and abused Quileute culture and taken away their humanity and autonomy. Please Please Please donate to the MTHG project, especially this week we’re hoping to make a statement since stephanie Meyer will be making money off of book sales. It’s all done through PayPal, so donate as much or as little as you are able 🙂 also, take this post as a sign to educate yourself about the local tribes of your area. Find out who’s land you occupy and what you can do to learn more about their history and provide them with monetary support if possible! Billy: Here’s how I try to look at it, and this is just me, this thing being out there, it’s like there are Vampires loose in the Highschool. There are vampires loose in the Highschool. I think eventually everything’s going to be okay, but I have no idea what’s going  to happen next, and neither do any of you, and neither do your parents, because there are Vampires loose in the Highschool. It’s never happened before, no one knows what the Vampires are going to do next, least of all the vampires. We’ve never seen them in a Highschool before, they’re as confused as you are. There’s no experts.
