I know realistically I'm about five steps away from inventing a conlang for the other world in this project but I am trying so hard to put it off because I don't want to have to come up with a consistent phonology. Maybe I can just throw it in << >>s and get around making new words.
Solution: they speak Etruscan and now I don't have to make a phonology at all.

Finally installed and converted my current project to a Cheese Paper doc to try and get out of using Google Docs. I don't have any experience using Obsidian or similar programs (I may have used Scrivener a decade ago for NaNoWriMo maybe) so for me, the simplicity is appealing.
I like having a summary and notes section for my scenes since I'm using The Magus to generate scenes and I just stick my prompts in there.
Oh I had the great idea of making a "location" tab for all the language used because it's alternative history PLUS the protagonist losing language ~magically~ in order of newest to oldest.
It makes it way easier to look up what words I've already used too.

saw someone say “if the cat blog posts any more of their spider erotica, I’m out of here,” so let this be a warning that it’s only going to get worse. we’re in the peaceful early stages. when this book actually goes up for sale I am gonna be commissioning so many images of tender spider lovemaking. in a horror movie this would be the ‘getting weird vibes from the local at the gas station’ stage, like you still have a chance to turn your car around and make it out alive

The Ignoble Invasion of Prince Proculo is officially out for pre-order, with worldwide links below:
New URL, formerly lateralmaxillary. My kid made me play Among Us and IncisorTooth was too long for the username, so I picked Incisor2th and then realized I liked that enough that I was sad it was only for a game I will play once a month at most.
Also, tragically, I really like playing Among Us (I am really good at being an imposter even when I'm playing locally and people can see my face >:) ) but I don't want to play with randos online either.
I can't stand the Simon Says minigame though. Awful. I thought the Simon Says in SDV was the worst, but doing it while you're knowingly about to be murdered makes it so much worse.

HEHEHEH! I gave Andy an early chapter from The Ignoble Invasion of Prince Proculo, and said 'draw whatever you want from it!'
this is the result. if you drop the leash, is your dog well-trained enough to retrieve it for you?

I picked up working on the solo journaling TTRPG I made back in like 2022 recently. It combined some features I really enjoyed from other solo journalling TTRPGs like using a tarot deck to draw prompts but can also be played with a random number generator + normal playing cards, or dice if you like suffering/shiny math rocks.
The last thing I need to do before I can push the update with pre-written prompts for all the minor arcana is the fucking Wands and for some reason writing Wand prompts is even worse than writing the Coins prompts were. Possibly because I lost a little bit of what I intended Wands to be. Every minor arcana got two themes with the Cups and Swords to be about the player character and/or the present, and Coins and Wands to be about the worldbuilding and the past/future respectively.
On the worldbuilding side, Coins are supposed to be more about the physical, mundane parts of the world, and Wands were supposed to be about the supernatural laws ("Fire of Creation") which the player character is a vehicle for "discovering." Yes this is a game entirely about making a fucked up little scholar to help you worldbuild with.
I may need to go back and rebalance some of the prompts, though, especially for what you're supposed to do when you land on a prompt that requires you to convert more Marks/Truths to Truths/Marks than you have or if that's an instant game over. I haven't gotten many people to playtest it, though I've played about 4 full games myself and done a dozen runthroughs just to see if the balance is like tolerable. They have more fun effects like "keep this card to save yourself from critical unbalance once" or "instantly fucking die" which I've definitely drawn as my first or second card before haha. If you want to play it as it is right now, it's (always) free and is 1 page, back and front, for the 1 Page RPG Jam 2022.
