Rendezvous with Grandmama
Lwaxana hadn’t been planning to go anywhere, her duties as an ambassador these days were few, but after speaking with her daughter a few days prior, she had been on the comm arranging passage for a visit.
“Oh my dear, I came as soon as I heard,” she spoke as she stepped off the transport pad. The sympathy in her voice was thick, but genuine. However the sadness she was feeling was kept behind barrier, her granddaughter was exuding enough of her own to fill the tiny room. Lwaxana knew far too many of life’s tragedies, but she had always hoped that her granddaughter would be spared them. Even though she very much doubted that would ever be the case. The people that were the closest to her had a tendency to attract these sorts of things.
Cheyenne had been about to tell her grandmama she had no idea what she was talking about, but she knew never to say or even think that. Lwaxana Troi always knew what she was talking about. Chey let her barrier come down as she stepped forward toward her grandmother. She’d forgotten she was coming, but she was so glad she was here.
“It’s too much to think about, Grandmama.” Her heart was still broken in two. She didn’t know how to heal after this.
