i am a participant of my schools marching band, drumline is love, drumline is life, and I play a LOT of instruments. (Such is the way of a humble percussionist). those instruments are as follows, Guitar, (electric, acoustic, and bass) Drum Kit, Bass, tenor, and snare drums, a little bit a keys/mallet instruments. And aux perc. I also sing :3

Run in the Shadows
This is my own original story! I talk about it a LOT on here, and it’s one of the main focuses of my blog.
it follows two boys, August and Casey, who are paired up together for an end of year biology project. While in the woods looking for things they need for their bio project, August stumbles into a cave that should not have been there. as he walks in and back out of the cave he realizes that he is not where he started. he’s in a completely different forest, the Lost forgotten.
As August is wandering through the other woods, Casey falls through the floor of the regular forest. Finding himself standing (or rather landing) right next to August. While wandering the Lost Forgotten, both boys soon realize they’re not alone, and although everywhere they go they can’t seem to find anything, (or anyone), they both feel as if they’re being watched.
The two boys must find their way back, before whatever’s following them finds them first.

Had a thought that Grace technically never used reverse translation for Rocky, and Rocky understood him without a translator because he basically learned the language himself.
And you know all those jokes and headcanons about Rocky swearing every other word like any self-respecting engineer would, right? And Grace most likely did enter all those words into the translator, but replaced them with softer censored equivalents because he himself doesn’t really swear so the idea that someone might be talking to him in profanity every other sentence probably never even crossed his mind.
Now imagine this. They finally arrive to Erid. Grace desperately wants to make a good first impression, so he spends days hunched over his laptop, painstakingly assembling a greeting speech out of fragments from Rocky’s recordings.
And the resulting first contact speech sounds… bad. Like really bad. He turns the laptop toward the delegation looking unbelievably proud of himself. Presses play. And the computer proceeds to unleash a magnificent torrent of multilayered alien profanity stitched together from fragments of Rocky’s voice. Grace has absolutely no idea.
Rocky watched all of these preparations in silence the entire time, making those sly whistling noises that could absolutely be interpreted as laughter. Rocky's proud.
Meanwhile the Eridians are just thinking: "Yep. Okay. This leaky space blob really did spend years with our Rocky."
i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af
i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience

I miss when ads were a single click and then they’re gone. Now every ad has a minimum of three phases where you watch a video, exit the still frame of fake gameplay, and then exit the app download. That doesn’t even touch on the ones that forcibly take you to another app after opening a tab in safari without you ever touching the screen.
I hate advertising. I hate that you can’t do anything without companies jumping down your throat with mostly bullshit ads. I hate that billboards exist. I hate that every company unanimously decided to make their ads longer and longer. I hate that ad blockers try to charge you money and there are in app purchases to remove ads. I hate that my attention has become commodified. I hate that there’s nothing I can do about it.
One day after a field trip with his class into the biodome, Grace accidentally carries one of the smallest pebbles the pocket of his sweater and bring them with him to his house.
The pebble was mesmerized by Grace's house and even when they didn't got a picture of all of it before Grace notice them and carries them back to the classroom and put them safe in the other side of the xenonite wall the pebble presumes about the experience with all their classmates.
Now all the pebbles want to sneak in Grace house, thinking and planning of new ways to just take a peak of how a human house look like or what Mr.Grace does when he is not been a teacher. Rocky has help at least four pebbles to pass as decorative rocks in the garden and have tried to help them get inside the house through the windows, he is all in for the love of game. Grace has stop every attempt, but Rocky knows that the pebbles and him would won at last.
you're not allowed to bring wireless devices into classified areas and a security guy noticed a square phone-ish shape in my pocket so he asked me to show him what it was and i had to show him my can of pocket herring :/
