Ok. I feel like there is something we don’t talk enough about in this fandom.

The fact that he sounds really good live is what makes him my favorite male Kpop vocalists. Onew has the lowest range between all 3 SHINee tenors - his belting range isn’t as extensive as Jonghyun’s and Taemin’s but he’s REALLY GOOD at his supported range. Imo Onew also has the best projection skill and in general has the best stamina I’ve ever seen in Kpop idols. He has a lot of solo parts, he sings the loudest during most SHINee’s songs chorus but his consistency almost never wavers even during a fulltime concert. Not to belittle both Jonghyun and Taemin but both of them tend to get off key/have more flats as the concert progresses, especially when you watch the fancams aka the unedited footages. Taemin even opted to lip-sync some parts to preserve his energy as he’s the main dancer. Onew, on the other hand slayed through until the very end of the concert. One thing that makes me love him so much is the fact that he’s a really smart vocalist. When he knows he’s too tired to belt or felt that he couldn’t really hit the notes without straining, he chose to use his head voice and his head voice is really angelic. There are idols which admittedly have better technique than him but imo no one has the complete package like Onew. He has the warmest and most unique tone, he’s really consistent in his live performances, and his stamina is the best especially when you consider how physically demanding SHINee’s choreographies are.
