Nadie se muere a la mitad de un poema

ni en el momento de declarar su amor

o de recibir la llamada del triunfo.

Se muere de noche: cuando Dios

alguno nos protege y la obscuridad

espanta a los audaces y a los niños.

Se muere de día, en la pulcra cama

de un hospital; o a media tarde, cuando

el sacerdote está por marcharse.

Aunque, señores, los amorosos afirman

lo contrario: en realidad se muere

siempre, cada minuto; en tanto se viva.

Synopsis The lamp of the body is the eye; thus if your eye is good, your entire body will be filled with light; but if your eye is evil, all your body will be in darkness. So if your inner light is dark, how much will already be the same obscurity?
