β¬ ββ a long day at the hospital again meant beng puked on ( by babies and drunks alike ), watching patientsβ loved ones cry their eyes out when she has to tell them that they didnβt make it through the night, and overly flirtatious attending physicians who think they can get into her pants by offering to take her out for the night. so, on those rare moments when she gets a break from the hustle and bustle of the day, she always heads to the local coffee shop with a refillable cup and her laptop case with her essentials β including her laptop β at her sides, and she always gets the same thing β a caramel macchiato with three shots of espresso, because damn it, she deserves it. today is one of those days. she sits on the patio outside with a laptop and her coffee order. as sheβs just about to open it up, she spots someone sitting across from her at a different table. she gets up from her seat, bringing her laptop over, and plops down in front of them.Β β hi, β she greets with a warm smile, sticking her hand out,Β β michelle duval. you look like you could use a friend. i know i do, what with the rough day iβve had today. let me tell you, being puked on by a baby is one of the things i expected taking this job, but not as often as this past week. itβs even worse to be puked on by a drunk person, yβknow? β she doesnβt mean to rant, but she does anyways.
people watching, imogen wasnβt quite sure why, but she always enjoyed just sitting back and watching the people around her exist. with her job she was always brought to the focus, having to assist with wounds, or securing patients, often checking them in. she just enjoyed being able to sit back and watch. taking notice of michelle walking into the cafe a warm smile pressed on her features, in an attempt to say helloΒ without using words it wasnβt until she was approached did she realize the other didnβt even recognize her. bizarre, but, she could only assume it was the late hours, and the long story that fell from her lips.Β βhi, michelle,β she smiled, though there was a bit of confusion in her gaze,Β βhave you slept, angel? we have shifts together... often,β cue her lesser lip to tuck between her teeth as she shook her head, long red locks falling to one side as she brought her warm tea with a splash of milk and honey to her lips. the temperature finally dropping as she looked to the otherβs laptop.Β βI donβt really mind the baby vomit, itβs the other end Iβm usually worried about.β a pause,Β βmore work?β
