If you wanna get out alive-run for your lifeâŚ
SARCASM: a sentence pack
"That went well."
"I hope you're happy now."
"Brilliant."
"Do you ever use your brain, or do you just think those five pounds are a built in workout for your neck muscles?"
"Remind me why I should care."
"Oh, gosh, you've insulted me! What ever shall I do? I'll be mentally and emotionally scared for years!"
"This is your bright idea?"
"Wow, you are just so incredibly funny."
"You keep on telling yourself that, sweetheart."
"Whose idea of a fun time is this?"
"Careful, keep having that much fun and it might actually start being good for your health."
"Yes, because your well-being is definitely my number one concern."
"I'll lose sleep over that. Definitely."
"Oh, no. Whatever shall we do? It's dark and we live in the 21st century!"
"Yeah, sure thing."
I did a thing.....

The Night Shift
Muse A has a tendency to be a little paranoid. They live alone, and they always have all the doors and windows locked, double-checking them at night before they go to bed. Until lately, Muse A has been able to sleep decently well, but a string of robberies in their town has them spooked. Muse B, a friend of Muse Aâs, works a very late shift in town, and while they see the robberies on the news, theyâre not too worried. They have the standard alarms that make them feel safe enough, and they carry on with their life. When one of the robberies turns into a homicide, Muse A finds themselves laying awake at night, completely unable to sleep, every noise or shadow making them jump up and grab the kitchen knife they have sitting beside their bed. Unable to cope, Muse A calls upon Muse B, and asks that they come back to their house after work, just so they can feel safer. They would have complete access to Muse Aâs food, television, and internet if they would stay up until Muse A could fall asleep. Muse B, not wanting to go home to an empty, dark house themselves, agrees. When Muse A is still unable to sleep, they venture out to the living room, where Muse B is sitting on the couch, watching a DVD. They stay up and talk for a while, eating snacks, and Muse A confides in Muse B about their fears. Muse A finally tries to go back to sleep, but stays curled up on the couch, feeling safer with Muse Bâs immediate presence. As the nights go on, and a routine is established, Muse A and Muse B begin talking more, laughing, enjoying each otherâs company, but Muse A never seems any less afraid. One particularly sleepless night, before a very important day for Muse A, Muse B suggests letting Muse A lay their head in Muse Bâs lap, in case it would be more comforting. Muse A finds comfort in Muse Bâs touch, and in time finds themselves holding Muse Bâs hand, cuddling up close to them and watching tv, always falling asleep with them. When Muse A is fast asleep, Muse B moves them to their bedroom, and returns home to sleep themselves, though they are always tempted to crawl in bed with Muse A and fall asleep with them. Is Muse B just doing this for a friend? Or is there something more
So you know what they are??
Arenât they just really bad attempts at guessing our ages??
I don't think so. I mean come on. Peter as 20? Me as 8?
Either someone thinks your brother is a pedophile or else this is for something else.
The Hales and sleeping
Facing the Ghost | Closed (buriedbeneathbane)
Laura had spent weeks hiding and healing when she was brought back, spending time with the witch who had given her life, getting as much information from her as she could before she finally left the run down old house, or âspread her wings and flewâ as the witch had so elegantly put it the day she left.
It had taken her a while to find a place small enough for herself to live in. It was just her for the time being, and it would only be her until sheâd healed fully and mustered up the nerve to tell Derek she was alive. From what she could gather, her little brother wasnât in the town at the moment, hadnât been for a couple of weeks now, but she wouldnât dwell on that. Â If heâd left and he was happy, sheâd leave him to get on with it and not rock up to his place, banging on the front door and declaring that she was alive. It would destroy him.Â
Her apartment was small, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It was similar to the one she ha shared with her little brother when they lived in New York, though this one was more modern, better kept. The apartment block had only just been built, and she was one of the first occupants. A couple more had been sold since she move in, two upstairs and one down the hall to her. All lovely people, but she would never be able to consider them as friends, however nice they were to her.Â
Sheâd made the place her own, finally healed as much as she could before venturing out into the small town she grew up in and shopping, getting everything she neededâŚand that included a whole new wardrobe, furniture, food, dishes, cutlery, everything really. It was nice though. She enjoyed it, setting up home and finally getting to live her life again, feeling more optimistic and less murderous towards her uncle with each day that went past. Sheâd decided a long time ago that he wasnât worth the hassle, that she wouldnât risk changing the colour of her eyes for him.Â
It was late afternoon on a Friday when she heard the knock on the door, causing her brows to furrow as she looked over at it, subtly sniffing the air in an attempt to figure out who was on the other side. The scent was somehow familiar, though completely unknown to her at the same time. She was immediately on edge as she set her mug down on the coffee table, wiping the cream from her hot chocolate off her upper lip and moving the book sheâd been reading, bending the corner of the page and closing it before placing it on the coffee table next to her mug and standing up.Â
She took a moment to straighten herself up, grabbed her hoodie off the back of the sofa to pull on, sipping it up and covering herself up. Sheâd had a tank top on and her sweatpants, didnât want to have everything on full display when she answered the door.
Fixing her hair, she took a deep breath, walking over and peering though the peep hole, catching sight of the young female and breathing a sigh of relief before opening the door, looking her up and down as her lips pulled into a small smile, causing her gaze to drop to the floor. She remembered then that sheâd completely abandoned her old friend when she and Derek left town, had barely contacted her in the six years she was away. From the mixture of emotions that rolled of her former best friend, she knew that Nina must have heard bout her death, knew how shocked she must be to see her alive, and so, she stepped aside without saying a word, gesturing for her to enter the apartment and locking the door back up when she had, taking another deep breath before facing her.Â
â âWould you like a drink before we deal with the elephant in the room? I think weâre gonna need oneâŚ.or twoâŚor ten. â
The thought that it really could be Laura did not hit Nina until after she knocked. She'd thought up all her excuses for knocking on the wrong door but she had no idea what she would say if it was in fact her fallen friend.
It took a good half of a minute before Nina could hear footsteps on the other side of the door. She held her breath as she heard the padding of feet heading closer. Rolling her shoulders and her neck quickly she tried to loosen up and bring a smile to her face as the door started to open.
"Hi I'm sorry to...." Nina trailed off in the middle of the sentence, her smile fading as she took in the sight of her formerly dead best friend.
Her mouth hung open slightly as she stared. The silence that passed between them began to grow awkward and she quickly snapped her lips together, blinking. When Laura gestured for her to come inside she did so with no protest, as if on autopilot.
She waited until Laura was done locking up behind her to turn and face her friend. Laura beat her to speaking and she pursed her lips as she thought.
"Ten," she repeated after a moment. "Ten sounds like a good number to me."
"Possibly each."Â
CALLED IT.

Red eyes met blue as Nina leaned over the boy on the ground. Exhaling through her nose she straightened, keeping her eyes on him.
"Think you can keep up?"
He nodded, sharp blue eyes carefully following her movements as he crouched before her. Letting them fade back to their normal brown he swallowed and replied. âYes.â
She folded her arms, continuing to look at the boy on the ground. Reaching down she offered him a hand up before waiting a moment and tapping him on the shoulder.Â
"Show me what you got," she said, "You're it," before running past him further into the woods.
Facing the Ghost | Closed (buriedbeneathbane)
The first time she saw Laura, Nina was convinced she had consumed too much coffee on the night shift and that she was sleep deprived. Agreeing to cover a shift after a few hours of sleep really hadnât been the smartest thing Nina had ever done. Sheâd gone to sleep dreaming of sleepovers of the past and woken up to an empty apartment her younger self would have found empty and boring.
She thought she saw Laura once at the food store. Standing in the middle of the produce department, Nina was looking at the cotton candy flavored grapes and wondering who thought it was a good idea to make them exist. She hadn't so much seen Laura as felt a familiar presence before seeing a woman with dark hair turn the corner out of the department. It had probably just been a random person but after nights of wondering how life would have been if Laura was still alive she started to see her friend everywhere and in everything she did.
Mostly it was just wondering to herself what Laura would have said about the really lame Christmas decorations around town or the fireworks display on the 4th of July, or does this dress actually make her look great.
So when she saw Laura walking in town she had seriously wondered if perhaps she needed to check herself into that weird Eichen House outside of town. Especially when she saw her again.Â
The third time had been the final straw. She'd started to follow her once the shock wore off only to lose her a minute later. Nina began to look for Laura everywhere when she went out. Around every corner, every trash can, every time the door opened for the diner she would look up hoping it was Laura.Â
Now here she was. Standing outside an apartment she'd seen Laura enter earlier. Laura. Dead Laura. Previously alive best friend. Friend who had left Beacon Hills and Nina behind only to return and die. Her midnight snack buddy, her chemistry class partner, her go-to person for trouble and mischief.
There was no way she was alive. She'd seen the articles, kept up with the investigation and Derek from afar. The woman on the other side of the door would be a normal human who Nina would make some excuse to about a misplaced address and she would leave, knowing she was crazy, and feel the loss all over again.
"Let's get this over with," she muttered.
She knocked.
