It starts small, really. He brings him his favorite coffee every day, and Bruce just groans and calls him his savior. Then he switches to flowers, hoping that would make it more obvious, yet Bruce smiles and says how thoughtful that is, Alfred would love to see some plants in the manor since the garden stopped blooming for the season.

He invites him to dinner in a restaurant, yet Bruce looks right past the way Harvey hurries to open every door and helps him take off his coat, calling it "a nice change of their regular hangouts."

The weekend getaway together to an expensive hotel on the shore of Metropolis gets labeled a best friend road trip. Taking Bruce as his date to their old classmate's wedding is seen as a measure so neither of them had to go alone. At every compliment, Bruce just plants a hand over Harvey's hand and, laughing, asks him to stop joking because his cheeks start to ache.

It's one of those occurrences when Harvey finally can't take it anymore, grabbing Bruce by the shoulders and shaking him while screaming "fucking hell, I'M FLIRTING WITH YOU. ROMANTICALLY. LIKE PEOPLE IN LOVE DO," right in that gorgeous face while the steel-blue eyes widen in shock.
