If a little does deny themselves, can they slip into headspace accidentally after too long of denying it? And what happens if a caregiver goes too long without going into headspace? Thanks for answering! I always love your answers. Ta! -T.
Sadie: lol, I love getting questions like this; don’t ever hesitate to send one, honestly!
Yes, slipping into headspace accidentally, especially after a purge period, is one hundred percent (100%) possible, and I’ve seen it happen soooooooooooo many times, lol.
One example was the time @crashageplay came up for a visit. Before he arrived, another Big of his messaged me to tell me that he’d been caught doing something that he’d already been punished TWICE for texting while DRIVING, and asked me to carry his punishment for her.
As soon as he stepped in the door, I looked at him and said “You are in so much trouble!” Boom. Instant blushing. The quiet ‘Miss Saaaaaadie!’ as a protest.
Point of the story besides being super adorable, is that it’s really hard to avoid some of the things that may trigger you into going int headspace. Sometimes, it may be a completely new trigger that you’ve never experienced before that you have no way of avoiding because you flat-out DIDN’T KNOW.
Mommy/Daddy/Cargiverspace can be similar…at least for me. Luckily, I’ve got a lot of friends and family that depend on me, so I can sate the need to nurture pretty easily, lol. And I also talk to my Little nightly since we’re long distance, and in the time between visits I can plan small care packages for him. :)
But nothing shoves me into Mommyspace faster than asking me to help with something. At a con last year, there was a Littles party with candy, coloring books, and a station for making friendship bracelets. I’d already changed one Little, so I sat aside with other Bigs and just basked in the warm, fuzzy feeling that I get when I’m being sappy while the Little that I came was coloring and making new friends.
Then the Little that I’d changed brought one of his friends over and sat on the floor in front of me, where the candy bowls were (of course :P), and then turned and held out one of the fun-sized candy bars and asked “C’n you o’ben this for me, p’ease?”
Anon, I fucking melted. That was the cutest thing ever and in an instant, I was Mommy and cooing over them for having such good manners! And sharing with their friends, too! And both of their little faces blushing and giggling with each other was just sweet, gooey icing on top of the most fluffy, moist cake.
I’m getting Mommy-pangs just from describing it, omgosh!
