HOGWASH

“How --- it is a trick. It’s bigger on the inside, bigger than it looks on the outside.” That part probably shouldn’t have been that shocking, not when there were rooms like this in the magical communities but this was different. It was thrilling and advanced, something out of this World. “What is this? I ain’t ever seen anything like this before. How is it making all those sounds? What ‘bout the lights? It’s all MAGIC but different t’ any magic that I know ...an’ that’s the thing I wanted t’ tell ya. I’m a witch. Not something I’m supposed t’ tell any people but you’re different.” 

Stepping to the side a little, Queenie kept the smile but nodded. “I think that’d be swell an’ then I’ll just follow you inside ... or just take a look. Not sure there’s enough room in there for the both of us.” She shook her head, allowing a small laugh to escape her lips. Of course there wasn’t enough room in the box for the two of them. It had to be some kind of solo travel mechanism, rather than apparation. Perhaps he was one of them. “Go ahead, open the door. I’m ready t’ see your special way of getting in here. An’ the more impossible it may be ...the more I’ll love it.” In the back of her mind she could hear Tina, reprimanding her for following some stranger so freely but Queenie didn’t care. He seemed nice and more than interesting. 

Queenie couldn’t contain her smile as she listened to him, her heart racing when he mentioned landing there. That was one of the most curious things he could have said, especially when he claimed it happened in the blue box. “Aw honey, I’m always a believer in everything ... even the impossible. An’ maybe, as y’ wanna show me inside the box, I can trust you to tell that I’m not just anybody. I’m not anything special either but I’m ... well, I’m not a no-maj. That probably don’t mean much t’ you. Let me take a look in there an’ I’ll try t’ explain what I am.” She ventured towards the box, pausing at the part which seemed to be the door. “This ain’t a trick where I open the door an’ something jumps out t’ scare me, right? Someone did something like t’ me in school an’ I still didn’t get over it.”

“An’ do ya believe in making wishes come true?” That was her not so subtle way of trying to find out if the other knew of magic. A part of her already assumed he did, especially considering he brought a big blue box inside the building. “Yeah, you’re in New York. I don’ really understand how y’ got in here with that thing over there.  Is this a joke? Did Teen put y’ up to it? I know she’s been wanting t’ cheer me up an’ all that but even I ain’t gonna believe you got in this building in that thing. It’s a blue box. Looks kinda funny .... can I look inside?” 

                 “The doctor of everything? Honey, how’s that even possible?” Her smile grew, curiosity building with every passing second she spent with him. There was something alluring about the other, something she couldn’t quite put her finger on. A part of her wondered if he was familiar with the Wizarding community, the fact she couldn’t hear his thoughts did strengthen that thought. “Where did y’ even come from? I don’t remember anyone else being down here an’ I didn’t hear the door --- what’s that?” Her curiosity peaked once more with the sight of some blue box that definitely hadn’t been there before. 

                when you come back to your muse and decide you want to redo all your icons .... yeah, for the hundredth time. I’ll be on photoshop rushing through that but do come plot with me. Queenie wants to play again. 

               “Splendid? Well ain’t cha the sweetest thing.” The faintest smile tugged at her lips as she glanced over to the other, someone unlike anyone else she had met. The doctor. “I’m Queenie but what kind’a doctor are ya?” Normally she would allow his thoughts to answer her curiosity but that simply wasn’t happening, not with this man.
