He couldnât stop thinking about her. The girl that would sitin the middle of the class with the prettiest of smiles, the girl that wouldlend him a hand anytime that he asked for it, the girl that would make his daybetter every time he came. Candy. Heâs had a thing for her for months; she lefta great affect on both him and his heart. Yet he always doubted that someonelike her would like someone like him.
As the bells echoed through the high school, the studentsfilled the halls to treasure their break before having to be assembled in thegym. It was just the day after he and Candy went on some âdinner dateâ withRosalya and Leigh. Nathaniel couldnât help but think that was a double dateCandy had set up, but of course, he was never sure about it. One thing he wassure about was his crush on Candy.
Getting up from his assigned desk, he placed his belongingsaway before a voice interrupted his thoughts. âHey Nath!â Candy greets, approaching him. âOh, hey, Candy.â He replied, pushing in the drawer of thedesk. âHowâs it going?â He asks.Â
âNothing much, butâŠI really have to talk toyou.â She said. Nathaniel raised an eyebrow to her. âIs that so?â He inquired,Candy gave him a nod. âI-In private, if you donât mind! I just want to talkand-â
âNo worries Candy, we can talkâŠmaybe in the library?âNathaniel suggested. âSince its break time I doubt anyone would interrupt us.âCandy put some thought into it, eventually agreeing with the idea. âYeah, youhave a point. So, letâs go, shall we?â She smiled, walking out of the classroomdoor. Nathaniel only thought in the back of his mind about how much he neededto talk to her as well. Walking by her side, he felt himself get nervous.
It was just a talk, sure, but a talk after their dinnerdate? That was a talk he wanted to hear more about. Eventually they went intothe library, with Nathaniel closing the door behind them. âSoâŠwhat did you wantto talk about?â Candy took a moment to reply to that, slightly biting her lowerlip. âItâs aboutâŠthat little dinner that we had together.â She began. NowNathaniel couldâve sworn she blushed mentioning it.
âI really felt like that dinner was a lot more than justâŠanouting, you know?â Nathaniel gave a slow nod, taking in every little detail ofher nervous movement and her not making eye contact. That was until she walkedcloser to him, Nathaniel definitely said nothing against it, his face growingredder by the minute.Â
âI donât know how to explain it, butâŠdo you think sotoo?â Candy asked, looking up to him. Before he could even reply, Candy goteven closer to him to make him quiet. Placing a hand on his chest, she said inalmost a whisper;
âBecause I think you do,â
In less than a second later, she was kissing him. Kissing him. Nathaniel practicallymelted into the kiss, running his fingers behind her head and pulling her in todeepen it. He couldnât believe it. If it wasnât real he was still going toenjoy it. All of it, there wasnât going to be any regret in this after all ofthe months knowing each other. As they separated, Candy looked up to him, allred in the face as much as he was.
Nathaniel was speechless, but gave her a warm smile. Candyleaned in towards him to give him a soft kiss, to ensure him that this wasreality. Not some daydream that they were having. He finally spoke up, pullingher a little closer to him.
âI knew that you felt the same.â
Candy let out a chuckle, giving him a smile.
Castiel couldnât feel more irritated with himself. With boththe gym meeting in less than ten minutes and the possible âdinner dateâ he justhad with Candy. Irritated with the fact he didnât know if she even liked him, especially after all the things theyâve been through, and with the fact hedecided he was going to confess. He held the belief they had a chance with eachother. Maybe even a little one, right?
Pacing through the halls, he went to search for her. Helooked in just about any classroom door he could open; there was no sign ofher. âWhere is she at?â He asked himself, trying to think back to the last timeheâs seen her. Yet, to no avail. Castielâs head was way too full of annoyanceto think about where she couldâve been. Rolling his eyes as slick as he could, he walked outside. Obviously themore the time had passed, the more that he would have to hurry up and find her.
He completely avoided the gym, in order to avoid attendingthe meeting early, and paced towards the school garden. And finally, there wasCandy, who seemed to have her head in the clouds. âFinallyâŠIâve been lookingfor you forever now.â Castiel said, approaching her. Candy turned around toface him.  âOh, really? Itâs not time forthe meeting yet.â She said, mumbling that last sentence.
âWell, what if I wasnât trying to find you for the meeting?âHe remarked. Candy gave him a slight look of confusion, then a playful grin.âThen, why donât you just say what you need to say?â That was another thing heliked about Candy. She always seemed to know what he really wanted to do,behind all of those sarcastic answers heâd give. âI just wanna sayâŠhow I thinkyou invited me to that dinner a lot more than just âfriendsâ.â
Candy raised a brow. âWhat makes you say that?â
âWell, Rosalya and Leigh are a coupleâŠâ Castiel began, trying to maintain a casual expression, âAnd us being there? Looks a lot like adouble date.â Candy grew a little red (probably because of how forward he was),Castiel was definitely giving her the signs. âIâŠI just⊠I just wanted tospend time with you, thatâs all.â She mumbled, Castiel furrowed his eyebrows, annoyed with the same excuse every time.
âYou always say that Candy, I canât count how many timesyouâve wanted to âspend time with meâ.â He said, pointing to himself withthumb. Candy bit her lip, looking up to him as she approached him even closer. While, Castiel, continued on with his rant; âAnd, well â if you want to tell mesomethingâŠthen tell me! Because I canât just read your mi-â
Thatâs when Castiel was cut off. Â
Candy grabbed right at his shirt and pulled him towards her.Cutting him off her soft lips, pressing against his own. It took a moment forCastiel to realize, Candy was kissing him. He had saw that and Candy had hereyes closed tightly. By the feeling of it, she was determined to kiss him andhe couldnât even believe that little girl actually did it.
It was rough one, but it wasnât like he was complainingabout it. Due to the sudden kiss, Castiel opened his eyes  and broke it to catch his breath. There was asilence between them both.
Candy loosened her grip on his shirt, looking up to him. Sheleaned in to give him another kiss, that was soft and sweet. âDoes that answeryour question?â She said, letting him go. Castiel blinked but gave her a grin.âSo, you actually like me? For my personality,â He spoke. Candy gave a littlesmile alongside a shrug.
âHey, I was surprised too, but here I am.â
Obviously it was known that memory wasnât necessarily hisstrength. But ever since the outing he had with Candy a few days prior, he hadremembered everything he said like lyric in a song. He knew this had to be morethan what he thought as an outing, Rosalya and his brother were there. The bothof them. It was always like Rosalya even hinted that Candy had a thing for him,but heâd never believe it. Â However,Lysander knew he couldnât hide his feelings forever.
Lysander sat in his usual spot, a few desks behind Candy, but enough space to have a view of her. He hadnât said a word to her ever sincetheir dinner and he could tell Candy was bothered by it. It wasnât her and hewas going to tell her that. As soon as the bell rang, Lysander was the firstone up out of all of the students, as Candy got up to leave, Lysander made roomfor himself to get to her. âCandy!â He called out, raising his hand a bit.
Candy turned to him, just a few feet away. âOh, uh, heyLysanderâŠâ She said, her hinting her sadness. âI would like to ask if we couldtalk in private, please.â He said, even though when he was in a rush, heâdalways be formal. Candy gave a weak smile and a nod. âSure, If youâd like.âÂ
Asthe halls started to become even more crowded, Lysander motioned for her tofollow him. Luckily, she obliged without question. As they made it to thequieter part of the halls, Candy looked around. âItâs a lot quieter hereâŠâ Sheawkwardly began, it was obviously she felt un-easy ever since their âfriendlyoutingâ.
âExactly why I bought you here,â Lysander smiled. âI justwanted to sayâŠIâm not upset about the confrontation with your father. I canunderstand why he was angryâŠyet, Iâm not affected by it.â He explained. Candylet out a sigh of relief, running her hand through her hair. âY-Yeah, thatâsgood to know.â She said. Lysander gave her a confused look, even after what hesaid, she still looked nervous about something.
âCandy, you still seem to be bothered by somethingâŠâ
âHuh? W-What do you mean?â She said. Lysander doubted that.He didnât deem the statement as untruthful without a good reason, more liketrying to brush him off from interrogating her too much. âCandy..if you havesomething to say, Iâm here.â He said, placing her hand on her shoulder. Candylooked down at her feet for a moment, fiddling with her hands.
âWell something more like something Iâve wanted to do, for awhile nowâŠâ She said, getting a little close to his face. Lysander blushed, notputting in any effort to move away from her. He looked straight into thosepretty eyes of hers and he didnât see a glimpse of any kind of joke she mayhave been pulling. Candy wrapped her arms around his shoulders and kissed him.Lysander relaxed into the kiss, caressing her cheek to deepen their kiss.
A part of him saw the kiss coming, with how close Candy wasto him. Yet, another part couldnât even comprehend how it happened. He didnâtcare about anything in that kiss, he only thought about the kiss they werehaving. A kiss the both of them have been wanting and finally, were getting. AsCandy broke the kiss, Lysander smiled wide. âYou have no idea how happy I am tofinally do that.â
âAnd I had no idea I was even going to do that,â Candysmiled, Lysander let out a soft chuckle. Giving her a little kiss on the nose, they embraced each other a few seconds longer, before departing.
âRegardless, I mustsayâŠthat Iâm glad you did.â
Anyone would know how careless Armin was when he was playinggames. A person could throw a paper ball at the back of his head and heprobably wouldnât even notice. Â The worldwas basically shut off as Armin was turned on, playing his games. With thearrival of Ms. Delanay, it seemed like Armin had to comprise on how to sneakduring class than using the classic âplay under the table and no teacher wouldnoticeâ method.
So, the best method he could think of, was to wait afterclass. Of course he still passed the time by, usually trying not to fall asleepor just daydreaming. Not just about his favorite fighting character or his newcustomization he bought, he realized most of his daydreams would be aboutCandy. Some of them just them holding hands or him just being able to confessto her. But how? Armin was clueless when he came to love.
And there she was, sitting a few seats ahead of him, justtaking notes. Armin sighed, resting his hand in his palm until the bell rang.Armin didnât even moved, he let all most of the students from the back get upbefore he did so he could get out of the class without being trampled on. Candyhad already left, but he didnât pay any mind to it. Itâs not like he was goingto confess anytime soon, especially after father yelled at him.
Armin took no time trying to think of classrooms thatâd beempty at this time. Leaving the classroom, he scanned the halls to see only afew students around. It may have been a few minutes before the meeting in thegym but that wasnât going to stop him from having his fun.Â
In fact, he knew theperfect place. Walking upstairs, he peeked into the science classroom. With nosight of Ms. Delanay he pulled the small console from his jean pocket, turningit on as he slouched on the chair to play.
âAlright, letâs get to it.â He mumbled, all focus going tothat game. A few minutes later, little did he notice, a certain Candy foundhim. âSo, youâre not going to the meeting?â Candy asked, walking up behind him.Â
âHuh? No, Iâm going to goâŠIâm just taking some time for myself, thatâs all.âArmin answered, glancing up to her for only a second, just to look back at hisgame. Candy sighed. âSoo, I suppose youâre too focused on your game to talk tome.â
Armin smiled a bit. âPfftâŠof course not, I can still talkwhile playing games.â  He said, smashingat those poor buttons. âBesides, Alexy has basically trained me to, talking tome all the time when I play and all.â Candy gave a little nod. âYeah, but thisis pretty important, actuallyâŠI think youâd want to hear it.â Armin paused hisgame for a moment, turning to her to give a look. âOn a scale, how important isit?â
âTo be honestâŠabout an eight.â Candy said. Armin sighed, placing his console on the table as he stood up to her. âSo, what is it?â He asked. He was eager to play his games but then again, with Candy being his first realcrush; it was worth giving time for. âI want to make this as quick as possible,so you donât get too impatient.â She said, rather quickly. Armin gave her aconfused expression. âI canât really see where youâre going with this, butâŠâ
âWell, Iâll showyou.â Candy said. Armin was going to remark about how she said it was going tobe âbriefâ, until she cupped his cheeks and quickly pulled him in towards herin a kiss. Armin went wide eyed. Â He grewstiff at her touch as his face grew redder than hers was. Of course, secondslater, he kissed her back. Armin placed his hands on her waist to pull Candy inmore.
Before he knew it, Candy broke the kiss. They were out ofbreath and of course - Armin wasnât experienced in it. To be honest, nor was heexpecting it. Their blushes only grew darker the longer they kept eye contact. Candyfinally blinked, managing to say; âWhoaâŠthat was..wow.â. Armin let out anervous laugh. âI knowâŠI wasnât expecting it either.â But his awkward smile wasimmediately replaced by smirk.
âBut let me tell you, Candy⊠that youâre real good at it.â
Kentinâs crush on Candy wasnât something new, of course not.He hasnât had some small crush on her for a few months â heâs actually had acrush on her for years. Ever since he was in middle school with Candy, she leftan effect on him. With her kindness, that no one else had given him. Or whensheâd lend a hand when no one else would. Candy was amazing and he couldnâtthink otherwise. Thatâs why, he finally grew the courage â after all thoseyears â to finally confess.
He didnât think of their dinner as a friendly outing and heknew she didnât. Especially after they held hands under the table, that wasnâtsome âfriendlyâ action. Kentin could swear that there was a connection betweenthem both, not just at that moment, plenty of moments they had were more thanjust âfriendlyâ moments.
He was more than ready to confess to her and nothing wasgoing to prevent him from doing so. Classes had already ended and in less than20 minutes, he had to think of something to tell Candy. Rather than justconfessing all of his feelings at once, he knew he had to give her a lot ofhints â because of how oblivious she was to the light ones.Â
Pacing back andforth down the halls, he kept mumbling to himself. It was like he was makinghimself a script or a â101 hints to say to Candy if she [still] doesnât understand.
Letting out a sigh, Kentin swallowed thickly regaining hisdetermination to confess to her. âAlrightâŠtime to find her,â He mumbled, walking down the halls, in search for his long time crush. He told himself itwas more, it just had to be. After all of those signs that happened, it canâtbe anything else. Yet again after all of the years, it couldâve been.  Opening up the door to the gymnasium, luckily,it was empty. No teachers, no students.
Unfortunately, there was no Candy. âWhere is sheâŠ?â He thought, looking around the gym. Holding his breath, he opened the door to the lockerrooms, hoping that she was there. Candy quickly turned around to the click ofthe door, giving a smile. âHey, Iâve been looking for you!â She said. âSame..fora while now, to be honest.â Kentin said.
âIs there something you wanted to tell me?â Candy asked. âYeah,I doâŠnot unless you have something to say first.â He said, sitting himself downon the bench as he invited Candy to sit next to him. âWell, a few things,â Shebegan, her eyes drifting away from Kentinâs. âIâll make it shortâŠI really donâtknow where we are.â
ââŠWhere we are?â He repeats.
âI donât know how to explain but itâs like I feel that youâremore than just a childhood friend⊠sometimes, I feel close enough to be morebutâŠthen again, itâs like we drift away.â Candy said, looking back at him.Kentin looked a little lost. âYou seem pretty confused, Kentin.â She said, lettingout an awkward laugh. He couldâve sworn that was just a confession but therewas no way he was going to ask, at this rate, at least.Â
âYeah, you could saythat,â He said. âWellâŠthen let me clear it up for you,â Candy placed her handon his thigh and a hand on his cheek. Kentin already flared up, bright red, as Candyleaned towards him, adjusting his head to turn towards her.  That was when, she kissed him. Candy had hereyes closed as Kentin slowly closed his own, bringing his hand to the back ofher head, taking her deeper into the kiss.
He waited for this moment and he was sure, during the kiss,Candy did too. He didnât care who started it â as long as it was happening. Hecould feel his heart beating through his ears and the blood rushing to hischeeks, it was amazing. As Candy pulled away, Kentin gave a charming smile. âYouhave no idea how long Iâve wanted to do that.â
Candy chuckled a bit, giving him a sweet peck on his lips.
âI bet that it was just as long as Iâve wanted to.â
