Both seemed to place a huge amount of importance on the truth of science, especially when compared to their disdain for religion. But where Eric seemed to see science as something that fit neatly into his rejection of societal expectations and other “manmade” norms, Dylan appeared much more conflicted. He seemed caught somewhere between the physical and the metaphysical, trying to make sense of the world through both a scientific and spiritual lens like neither way of understanding it felt complete on its own.
