—IT'S TIME TO TRY.

" dude, that's what you said at the last store—-! "

The girl practically whines, poor feet screeching at her after walking for what felt like hours on end. When she initially mentioned a particularly good cup of instant ramen she knew that he just had to try out, she hadn't expected it to be this difficult to find. They were in Japan, for heaven's sake! They should have near everything!

So then why was it that this was the third dang store that didn't have it?

A sigh. " seriously, this isn't worth it. if the last three stores didn't have it, i'm pretty sure the next one isn't either. "

It certainly didn't help that the sky was beginning to darken, too. Her head lifts to watch as the clouds are painted a rosy hue, the sun waving its last goodbye throughout the city, rays glimmering against the many windows of apartments and stores. It'll be night soon enough, and with it, the closing of several stores.

Sam looks back at her blonde companion, head shaking. How he can have so much energy in him, she'll never know. But it'd be a whole waste if he used it for this.

"Oi, well you should've thought of that before you went chasing after me...!" He does take some mild satisfaction in seeing her out of breath in comparison to him - he really had given her quite the chase! "I mean, that's up to you how you get that money...! Do it however...!"

Once more, he still found himself in that awkward middle ground of feeling somewhat wronged (she had just chased him after all…!) and yet also that weariness of wanting nothing more than to make peace.  Adding the fact that he was a stubborn guy into the mixture and this made for one headache of a situation, especially when he seemed to have met his match in terms of stubbornness…!

Yet...even in spite of everything - once he took the time to actually think - he'd been having a hell of a lot of fun!

Her whole body freezes mid-search. Brown eyes snap up to him then, mouth agape as if had just said the most offending thing to her on the planet.

" maruchan? " she asked. Slow. Incredulous. Insulted, even. " freaking maruchan? "

A scoff. Her hand's pulled out from the darkness of her bag to rest haughtily on her hip, head shaking at his words with a roll of her eyes. Nevermind that she previously chased this guy out of some hunger vision of his hair being mashed potatoes, or the strange looks they're getting from passerbyers, or the fact that she's still honestly pretty hungry—-this takes sole priority.

He shrugged at that, hands in his pockets as he leaned against the wall to rest a little. "Who knows. All that's sure is that death messed with her brain in that way. It's sad, honestly." It really was. When Morgana left the team for a few days back in October, he wasn't sure what to do with himself either.

" no, i meant—- "

Sigh. There wasn't much point correcting him, was there? The topic's sad enough as is, and with him going on to make a whole promise to safeguard his cat... Well. It's not as if it's the greatest conversation in history to have, much less continue. Her own body follows his then, resting her back against cool, solid brick.

... Wait. Sam peers over at him, blinking.
