"I mean, if you don't have it then you better scrounge it together...! You can take a hit...!"

Perhaps he did sound more than a little unforgiving here but given he had just spent much of his time running - and hiding - from her, he didn't feel as though it were totally unwarranted…! Although…if he was being completely honest with himself here - it was clear that he couldn't keep up with the constant running and hiding either.  Offering an olive branch - of sorts - did seem like his best option here, lest he end up on the other end of her fork…!

" take a hi—-no i can't! " the girl exclaimed, lungs still slightly breathless after all the running she did. " what, you want me to steal that money? is that what you want me to do?! "

Well. She could, technically speaking. Being desperate led you to do things you'd never think you'd ever do, but here? She'd rather not have to do that, thank you! She didn't need the cops going after her ( especially after she chased some guy down with a fork like a maniac. Gosh, she wondered if anyone else actually called the police already on her—-? )

A frustrated groan finds its way out of her throat.
