I’d like to start doing some pet portraits for folks! (as much as I love my own boys, it’s fun to branch out.) In order to get the word out, I’d like to do a few starter pieces that I could use to promote my work.
So, for an introductory price of $50 USD (plus shipping!), I will paint a portrait of your best furry (or feathered, or scaled) friend.
What I'll paint: a close-up portrait of your pet, from a photo/photos you provide. I'll ask you a couple of questions about your pet too, to make sure I get their personality in there. (I'd prefer a single subject, though I know that rats and ferrets and other critters like to snuggle together, so that's ok too!)
What sort of Pet?: If you love on it, it's a pet! Cats, dogs, horses, bunnies, geckos, parrots, goats, minipigs, skunks, sugar gliders, chinchillas, snakes, etc. (I will do fish, if you can get a good photo! They're tough to catch!)
What you will get: an 18x18" original unframed acrylic on canvas painting, wired and ready to hang on the wall. I continue paintings on all sides of a canvas, so it's ready to hang as-is. (or, you could have it framed if you like) The turnaround time will probably be 2-3 weeks, depending on shipping time. I'll give a shipping estimate and price quote before you agree to anything.
What I will get: the rights to use reproductions of the painting for promotional purposes. I will NOT sell prints, cards, or anything else with the image. I would only use the image to say "Hey look, I can paint dogs/horses/bearded dragons/budgees/etc. as well as my own two cats!"
When I offer these up for sale later, the price will be more like $250-500, depending on size and framing options, so if you are interested in a professional portrait at a really REALLY good price, now is a great time to ask!
